Could it be that trance music is making a comeback? For the past 7+ years, we've accused trance music of being cheesy, predictable, commercial, and pop-music sounding. We associated trance music with candy raver kids, etards, and glow sticks. But don't you remember how good trance music made you feel years ago?

Most of us met our closest friends, our first true love experience, and had our most memorable experiences because of trance music. It was trance music that brought us together, when most people didn't understand our passion in music. But we drifted away from trance, because of the bad turn it took years ago. We discovered other genres that fulfilled that void, and we never looked back at trance music again.

Recently, I've discovered that trance music has stepped it up. I suggest you give trance music a chance again, for old times sake. You, too, might discover that it's actually pretty enjoyable (again). You can trust me, I know what I'm saying. I'm not some bimbo groupie go go dancer wanna be ;)

WHAT?? I must be dreaming?! Miss Julia welcome back; we all have been waiting for you! :D

replace "trance" with literally any other genre that a given person used to like and no longer does and this thread still works

Trance has been around, you just had to dig for it. As the mainstream gets bigger, the underground fights back and you have the true trance djs/producers repping the genre they love so much.

Also i've been hearing a lot of djs playing trance classics in their radio shows and live now more than ever.

It's really empowering to know that there are still disciples of the trance watch. true tranceaddicts in a sense. You shoot straight Ms. J, although trance music may never be as mighty as it was once back in 90-00's, there are still quality producers out there making music that we love. popularity is subjective but quality trance...well, you can really feel it! it "tranceport"s you to wonderful times. right now, i'm soundproofing Rank1 and Tilt/MaxG. they're playing socal soon:) love n light.

My guess is that they're going to change the name and drop "trance" from it. They probably want to give themselves room to try other genres in the future. Not too different from Trance Energy changing its name to The Energy.(still think that was a huge mistake)

It looks like Armada bought out Anjuna?

Thank you for supporting us all these long years. We couldn't have done this without you. Our Anjunabeats & Anjunadeep labels have been mainstays in the Progressive House & Trance genres for over a decade now. The levels we've reached year after year have never ceased to amaze us. Looking to the future, we are excited to announce that the Anjunabeats & Anjunadeep labels will be moving to the Armada label. We are so excited to be teaming up with such an extraordinary group of people.

Lovingly, Jono, Paavo & Tony...And all the Anjuna team!

Anyways, as far as trance goes, I've been really into the guys like Kearney, Indecent Noise, Paul Webster, Mark Sherry, and John Askew, etc. These guys are keeping that high tempo trance going for sure. The J00F and CL side of trance is putting out some good darker/psy type stuff as well, so lots of good trance out there. A lot of people think trance and they think of the old generation of mainstream guys that all sold out, but there is till plenty more of the good guys still around.:thepirate

Can you provide the link to this Armada connection? I can't believe it until I see the source.

I think it's fake to be honest, that's why I put a "?" but I am just relaying what I see.

It's a rumor created by a Anjuna forum member as a joke. Look at post #204. Trolling at its finest. :haha:

I believe that there's still good stuff out there, but I don't think that it's anything you'll hear out these days. I have some great memories of PVD (and Markus too, obviously) but whenever paul is coming around I get kind of sad cuz I'll be listening to Seven Ways or (especially) Out There And Back but realize that I won't experience anything like that at his live show anymore. I remember seeing him 3 or 4 years back and already it wasn't that kind of trance I was looking for, but he played a lot of really great stuff. Mindcircus, gouryella, and some of his own tracks.
I still listen to out there and back monthly lol

whatever
