It won't discover you, you have to discover it.

great post, i agree with everything you said

trance these days isent getting supported like it used to by the big dj's. they all feel the need to sell out and play this new style which they still label trance :whip: :whip:
gives the genre a bad name and makes me sick to my stomach

i gave up on seeing the big trance guys years ago. now when a more underground trance act comes around iam there fully to support even if the room is half empty i could careless.

back in sept i seen airwave in a small setting of about 50-75 people
and i just seen akesson & paul webster on friday night to about maybe 100-150 people

so yea real trance and dj's who spin it are out there, you just gotta dig a lil deeper to get it these days

part of me kinda wishes the uplifting euporic stuff does get supported again by big trance guys and brings it more to the masses, and the other part of me wishes it dont lol

I haven't been keeping up with the podcasts but just stumbled upon the fact TATW is ending about minutes ago. What happened? I hope they keep the old episodes available as free downloads. The old stuff before 09 was awesome

Listen to TATW 449, its a retrospective and I haven't stopped listening to it since I downloaded it.

interesting you mentioned this b/c my wife was just listening to a set of his in electric area and she said she really liked it.

Yeah, Andrew Bayer is great. He keeps the essence of trance alive while also experimenting and pushing the genre forward. A lot of the best Anjunabeats artists are like that, which is why I continue to enjoy the label despite its shortcomings.

Ya Andrew Bayer is one of the few new Trance artists I've played on my radio show in the last year and half. Love him!

If anyone is curious about who helped me remember & understand trance music again, it was Victor Dinaire.

Could it be that trance music is making a comeback? For the past 7+ years, we've accused trance music of being cheesy, predictable, commercial, and pop-music sounding. We associated trance music with candy raver kids, etards, and glow sticks. But don't you remember how good trance music made you feel years ago?

Most of us met our closest friends, our first true love experience, and had our most memorable experiences because of trance music. It was trance music that brought us together, when most people didn't understand our passion in music. But we drifted away from trance, because of the bad turn it took years ago. We discovered other genres that fulfilled that void, and we never looked back at trance music again.

Recently, I've discovered that trance music has stepped it up. I suggest you give trance music a chance again, for old times sake. You, too, might discover that it's actually pretty enjoyable (again). You can trust me, I know what I'm saying. I'm not some bimbo groupie go go dancer wanna be ;)
this isn't Tranceaddict approve

Trance fell off the tracks for a few years as producers were experimenting with different sounds with the EDM boom, but looks like the genre is making a comeback.

Its good to see that there are still trance lovers on this forum.

Quoted for truth on producers.
Glad to see there are people who listen to trance in a trance forum also.

You're a nOOB compared to me, so your approval is not valid.

These "Trance is as good as it ever was" threads never have examples posted..

I'm glad J00F and Airwave are still making good trance. Finding current trance that's actually listenable is such a chore because there's so much bad stuff out there. It's not worth it when other genres and labels are always come out with good stuff.
