Rolling Basslines

| Hey guys, I probably should put more effort towards finding some good material to use as a guide. I'm fairly acquainted with what rolling basslines are. the only problem i have is ill watch a tutorial say on youtube where it literally breaks it down, even some have the sound design aspect in them. but when i go to make my own from scratch. all my brain draws is blanks. IMO i love those really catchy driving rolling basslines you hear in a lot of trance these days. i was wondering if anyone has any tips/sources that would probably help me out as far as making them from scratch. i firmly believe in being as original as possible and i dont feel that its quite satisfactory just copying someone else's midi data/sound design. i'd appreciate it. thanks guys. |

There's no point to copy midi/sounds. All the secret is to what to do with the sounds you have - effects and stacking up different sounds.
What DAW you use? I can make you a rollin bassline in ableton (for uplifting trance) so you can see how to use effects. |

Painters took years of practice to get good at composition. No secrets, no tutorials, no shortcuts, just sweat and time. Practice 2 hours per day for 10000 days and you will crack it. If you think that sounds like too hard work, forget it. |

I'm afraid you've got a bad EGR valve and that pretty-much ed your head-gasket. That's the reason your car caught on fire like that. Anyway, the damage is pretty extensive. We're gonna have to replace both heads, bore out the cylinder walls, get larger pistons, replace three exhaust and one intake valve and we'll have to machine the rest to make sure they fit the new heads that we'll have to shim so they fit on the block with the new manifold. Probably gonna run about $3,000.00.
Are those aftermarket exhaust manifolds? |

I also have no problem practicing a lot if there's anything ive learnt so far is that there really are no "quick ways" to get good its all through how much time you put into it. But on the same hand. I'd like to be heading in the right direction than going in the wrong direction and realizing ive wasted time that i couldve been using constructively. That's all i'm getting at :-D |

+1 for the 10,000hr rule for mastery of anything - but that comes out to 4.80 years straight, if you worked on music 40hrs/wk. |
