Bummer. Sure, he hadn't made any big landmark releases for quite some time (though he still came out with some solid offerings in collaboration with Move D), and you could question his philosophy of drowning the market in ambient when Fax first kicked off, but when he truly sat down and took his time in crafting albums, very few come close to his meticulous sense of subtlety and detail. Plus, he more or less innovated hard trance through the 4 Voice project.

Just read about it. RIP.

Damn. Young dude too.

RIP.
As someone who was only nominally aware of him, for the most part, does anyone have any albums in particular they could recommend? With such a wide discography it's hard to know where to begin.
A friend of mine was mentioning a collaboration Pete did with mix master Morris. He didn't even realize Pete Namlook was such a popular, and needless to sayman ug legend. But I got a schooling to. Never heard of mix master Morris myself.
What a sad ing day.

Man, after King Roc and now Namlook, the grim reaper's having a field day with electronic artists this past week. Will probably never see another like him releasing so many ambient jam sessions with other major players of that scene.
Mr Game+Watch
RIP to one of the pioneers of ambient music. :(

Silence I with Dr. Atmo is his magnum opus, as far as I'm concerned. The subtlety and ebb and flow of tension in the tracks on that album is just something else, not just for ambient, but electronic music as a whole. Dreamfish (with Mixmaster Morris) is also very good. It's one of his more popular outings, which you might actually recognize some tunes from.
