It would be awesome if it was in a warehouse, but I don't think it'll happen. Like you said we are talking Miami here. What venues are even available with a warehouse feel? Most of the warehousey venues all get booked by the lesser mainstream parties because all the nightclubs book most things commercial. I would think somewhere in the 24 hour district would be best. Who wants to go to a showcase of MINUS from 11-5? |

Meh, the Minus party at Space was sick last year. I like clubs though, have never liked the warehouse feel, I guess I just don't get it. :conf:
And Space, at least in my experience, has been the place to go for people who love the music, at least on the terrace...And the "selling out" thing...Minus is one of the bigger labels out there and are marketed and branded extremely well...all of these DJs would love to make as much money as possible, I think, and I definitely don't blame them. I'd do the same.
Then again I think Ultra is a load of fun and that you can't do any better than that (well the Cox tent), and everybody here seems to hate on that. Maybe I'm just different, lol. |

I was at Space for that last year, and although it was great, it was nothing compared to M-nus @ the Ice Palace for Sunday School the year before. The vibe in that place was thick as Sh!t and there's just something about the feel of that place when it's full and the music is bangin'. Richie tore that place a new a$$hole and he knew it as he was droppin bomb after bomb. Never really seen him so animated before.
So here's to M-nus @ the Ice Palace again... fingers crossed |

| I don't really care where M_nus is this year, I'll be there. I have faith in predicting it will be the party of the conference again, no matter what the venue.. :crazy: |

it was made event from up here in NY that ran sunday school and had ties with ice palace/karu & y (they also used to do the anjuna party at those spots).
ever since electric zoo blew up, they stopped doing miami events just just focus on eZoo. so that severely messed up the techno parties in that spot =/. |

A little self defense here... I was totally smashed when I replied to this thread. The selling out bit was a a little out of line and unfounded BUT... I stand by the rest... I LOVE space terrace, loco dice, m_nus, it's amazing. What I was referencing was the situation of MMW. It simply can't sustain the amount of demand during that time. The last Sunday School was I think 30 bucks for Friday, I got there a little after 2 am and walked right in. Magda -> Richie -> Gaiser -> Carola (this was right before Music On) -> Paco. Showing up at Space 2 am Friday night MMW would be a disaster with a $100 cover charge. That's what I'm getting at.
I'm with you on the Carl Cox structure. That is the premier "experience" no doubt. Incredible visuals, sound and artists. Also not very crowded for the techno acts last year. Sven Vath literally got me high with music... The mixing was sub par but overall a stunning 2 hours. |

I figured this is what you were really complaining about. Space is great unless its a sardine can, then it. I probably couldn't do a night at Space during WMC. When I think about it I haven't, I usually skip it because I know for a fact its going to be just awfully packed. I hear you, It'd be great to see a showcase somewhere else a little more comfier. Here's to hoping, I'm sure the parties will start getting released in the next 2 weeks. |
