Sure, make the crowd happy and dance all night, but do it with tracks you're passionate about. You shouldn't have to alter your sound to make a crowd happy. If you have to, it's not your crowd.

As far as playing tracks from yester-year. It's fine once in a while and should never be frowned upon. But they shouldn't show up on a regular basis (the same track). Feature a classic or two in every set if you want, but to use the same ones over and over again is boring and predictable.

Oh absolutely...I'm not saying start dropping Skrillex cuz its bunch of teenie bopper neons in the crowd...the question here would be..what the hell are you doing playing at that kind of party anyways?

No DJ should play something he despises...that does defeat the purpose. Play what you love and if you just happen to be flexible with your styles it only works to your advantage.

I love my classics and while what I play and listen to has evolved heavily over the years, some of my favorite times playing are usually when there are lots of classics thrown in. But thats just me... :)

bro, you've been playing that song in every set since I saw you the first time (2004).

Made the trip up from Montreal for the Weekend to visit our crew here, flew right into to the Downtown Airport, soo sweet....really makes a big difference, hit up the LCBO.....got geared up and made our way to our booth. Ran us $80 entrance include with three bottles included. Really nice place, reminded me The old Tribe Hyper club in Montreal, just MUCHHHHH bigger.

Barely left the Dance floor, Lawler played a solid pumping club set, yes he pulled up some out a few signature staple tracks, he always has them, but for the most part it wasn't over done. Seems to really enjoy playin in Toronto, I remember him telling me it was one of his favorite cities to play in a couple years back.

Great crowd for the night, energy was there, lot of high fives, smiles, girls dancing, had fun with the Toronto crowd. Made a youtube....52 seconds Black ((Stereo)) be Yourself t-shirt. Meet a lot cool people, looking forward to coming back and ripping it up again soon

He played this one, always plays....from his lights out 3 compliation in 2005.

Another oldie, Westworld Remix....he doesn't play this one !?

The track in the 2nd Video is bananas

LIFE: TOUR CONCEPT LAUNCH
I originally thought of this concept back at the beginning of the summer in 2011. The idea was to throw a series of parties in bizarre and quirky non club environments in 12 different Capital cities all over the world... so here we are, I am super happy to let you know that me and my team have turned this into reality and the first date of the tour is now announced, taking place in the ship container dock Dekalb Market in Brooklyn, New York. You can check out more details on the LIFE microsite and keep up to date with all forthcoming dates:

The most important thing for me was to do this properly not about anything else but the quality of the shows and the venue's we find giving people something a little different to what there used to.

The idea of playing in a disused mansion, a forest or a naval boat for example really take me back to when i first started my career as a DJ when i used to throw illegal party's underneath motorways, or in a disused monastery which i did back in the early 90's. These parties were about nothing but having a good time jacking under the beautiful groove of house music , somewhere away from the glitz and glamour of night clubs and disco balls. somewhere to get down and dirty without a care in the world

After playing almost every club and festival on the planet I would like to experiment in this once again but this time with much better organisation and sound and this time across the globe... i am super excited to see where this journey takes us :) see you somewhere out there!

Here's some footage from NYC gig from the summer at the ship container dock... amazing!!! His only other LiFE gig so far took place in Miami amongst two villas.

even funnier someone requested chiapet at fw on friday, I said I didn't have it on me (I did lol)

and... there is a big difference between me overplaying it at CZ vs. a touring international headliner making 15k per gig lol

I disagree. If anything, he should know better. There's no excuse for overplaying an old track unless you produced it yourself (even then it shouldn't crop up all the time) or you're a top 40/mobile dj in which case you'd actually lose business because it would hurt you as a dj to not play the hits like "be faithful" by fatman scoop/crooklyn clan that people request every ing night.
