been to P94 once, and from the layout it is huge and decent, just not quite as "underground" as some of the warehouses.
The Compound in BK where the luciano is being held is supposed to be 60k+ sq.f. (does have columns, but didn't find them intrusive @ Halloween), so that seems to match up well with P94 itself (at 200k obviously bigger, I had seen somewhere that 94 is ~60k too).
But on balance you're right from the layout, both help keep the sardine-can effect to a minimum....

I didn't hear any complaints though, nor did I read anything that made that observation.

They did let people leave and come back in, so for guys that always is a help in this instance (hehe), but for ladies clearly sucks, no doubt about it.

REVIEW:
got there around 8:30am to see no line and no hassle at the door which was good. the crowd was alot thinner than last year, not dead dead but def saw a difference, i guess all the other parties this year took something away.
music wise dt was playing some really punchy tech-house/tribal sounds
then around 11am HOLY JIZ!!!!
grown man business techno all around!!! relentless and very consistant def a highlight of the party
around noon vc came on and the transition was a lil slow at first but he built the set up and good into the groove and played a real journey set, there was a good 2-3 hours where he had no sign of letting up. very good set
crowd wise it was a mix of everything, not too packed some room to move around. a few crackheads roaming around but overall a respectable crowd.
sound was clear and loud in some areas, on the right side it was a lil lower i dunno
production of lights and video was dopeness def top notch
overall i really like the venue and i hope to see more events booked there
good to finally meet gimmebeatz and progbeatz, sorry we got split up but it was fun to party with you guys for a lil hope it was worth the trip from buffalo
overall i had a great time bringing in the new year with 2 nyc legends

Did calderone play any classics?? I remember he ended with someone to hold last year. Also, at roseland the year before i remember he played a bunch of them towards the end

i didnt hear someone to hold , i was shocked he plays it every year ha ha
he did throw down some accapellas here and there but thats about it
kept it on his tech-house/techno tip for the most part

I hope the bath salts provided were enough to make it through the day. I am expecting to see you at Kearney though, havent been to a good trance party in a long time. I will start making the goods this weekend.
