Here is another tune I put together whilst testing new techniques. Been focusing on clarity and making things stand out in the mix.
EDIT:
Realised that the previous version was utter e in terms of mix etc. So revamped the track.

| the overall quality of your songs impresses me. I love the bass, kicks , percussions and so on, but this one sounds unfinished to me. Personally i love melodies and instrumental songs. Thats what I think is missing here. Just a line or two in the middle of the song to complete the buildup. Also at 6:00 the bell does not fit at all with the bass pitch in my ears. |

Heya, thanks for checking it out guys.
Yeah, got stuck on a main melody for this, but I agree it does need something just to cap it off. At the moment not feeling it completely so might put this on the shelf until I know how to finish it.
Just checked out the 6:00 minute mark, and that's down to me being lazy. Will fix that, I agree, this is something that almost sounds like a bum note in there. Thanks for that one.
Thanks again for listening.
Cheers

Nice work Nem, very evocative and uplifting melodic idea/concept my friend.
One think I would look at is this kick (it is my opinion/view only and ignore it if you really strongly feel about this kick) need to be a slightly different as this wooden/dry sound doesn't do a justice for this well develop and well control melodic journey.
Also after 5:26 you need to inject some additional story line with nice lead or perhaps arp to finish up track nicely with WoW factor lol.
Sweet work !!!

That painful moment when you realise that what you posted the previous night was complete and utter over compressed garbage. My ears must have been full of glue!
I have re-EQed everything and ditched the kick that had enough wood that I could build myself a house out of it.
Added some additional content i.e. an extra lead and some more percusive elements.
It is truly a testament to why you should never mix down when you aren't feeling it.
Updated version:

| alot better! I would work more on the bell sound tho, more reverd and delay. Maybe the midrange freq on its EQ is a bit high aswell? from 5:33 its very dominating in my consumer earplugs which im using here in bed;D . Maybe make it pan to left and right ear a bit aswell? will make it more alive. just some thoughts ;) |

On my first run I can definitely hear the difference - this kick complement all around environment or nicely coexist with it the more natural/harmonic way - one down and one more to go lol.
This 5:26 moment still need some face lifting, perhaps this bell sound you are using along your track could be pitch bend to create some basic melody out of (at and after 5:26 mark) - just an idea.
Anything else sound clean and dynamic enough at this stage.
Cheers man,

Thanks for the input.
I think I'm going to find something to replace the bell with for some portions of the track. It's starting to get on my ing nerves. :D
But some great ideas from you guys. Much appreciated.
Many thanks

Great percussion layers - i like the wide panning on these
i think the square wave melody sticks out a bit too much, maybe more reverb? (starts around 1.30)
nice sense of depth to this track! grt arrangement
i think something is not quite right in the low end, the sub or maybe just its relationship with kick.
All imo of course |
