Thanks! I wish I could, but I'll be back in Montreal until the 28th!

Very excited to get right into all the goodness here in Toronto, definitely going to be a great 2013 for me to explore and experience an entirely new environment :D

Welcome to Toronto!
Have to say I love Circus Afterhours more than Guv though... :haha:

just be careful at guv, ive been hearing about people getting robbed lately (more than usual)

if you stick to the outside parts of the main dance floor you should be fine but in the middle of the overpacked crowd and especially when the co2 gets really thick just make sure you're careful with your phone and cash

Thanks! We plan to stay where theres a bit of space (the little that there'll be!) to just have a good time, we hope we dont run into trouble!

Just wondering though, if there are reports of things like that -- do you think the management people of guv read these forums to get feedback?
hax-a-million
definitely not, and the bouncers/cops outside won't be too much help either unless you literally have the thief red-handed. point is to just keep your wits about you, it's common knowledge but people do tend to go a bit overboard at guv and forget that sometimes

Thanks for the heads up :)
It says doors open at 9:00pm, in your experience when should my friends and I start to line up to get in on the coatcheck?

Also, I hate to be the uber noob but... if the doors open at 9:00pm, when does the headliner usually start? x_x
hax-a-million
ive never been on NYE but normally headliners go on at about 1am

when it's a big act it can be really busy outside by about 11pm or even earlier sometimes

Seeing as it's a NYE event, you'll likely want to show up a bit earlier compared to other nights. If I remember correctly, on big nights, the line will typically take ~25 minutes if you show up at peak hours (between 11:00 and 12:30). In my clubbing experience, I've only ever been disappointed by showing up too late, and never by showing up early. I'd just go for 10:15, if I were you. Waiting in line while the clock strikes midnight isn't the way to go.

Thanks for all the help and replies everyone :)

We are all very excited to check out Guv tonight! Does anyone have any good parking spots or generally just park your cars anywhere nearby?
hax-a-million
most people park in the loblaws lot for $20... my friend's car got broken into while at the gift though so definitely do not leave anything in your car visible at all (if possible, just don't leave anything valuable in it period)

there's also a lot just east of the club about one block on the north side. i used to park just a bit further east in a plaza lot for free but (surprise surprise) i got broken into there

the lot just east of the westin harbour castle is generally good, probably your best best actually if you don't mind a short walk
