Damn that is insane. im guessing prices will go up along with the new clubs too, which is a shame, but if we get some ibiza-style venues in the US, that would be DOPE! Not counting on it though.

was just talking with this last night at Marquee with someone involved in the industry here...

Will be interesting for sure. And no mention of the new club going in at the Cosmo in there which will compete as well for the same djs.

The thing is, this effects the entire US market, not just Vegas. DJ's like Deadmau5 and the other superstar Vegas guys are driven by greed, and they see no purpose in playing for promoters that aren't footing that ridiculous bill.

You can see it directly taking effect right now with Ultra. Why do you think they booked SHM and Deadmau5 this year? Simply because they doubled their weekends and in turn created a larger budget to afford their outrages fees.

It's all basically cause and effect. DJs demand more money, and either promoters don't book them, or increase their method of revenue.

well expect to see Tiesto and Calvin Harris at Hakkasan and a few other djs will move over to Light and Ushuaia (both at Mandalay Bay) like some of the Swedes.... Prydz has a 2-year contract at the Wynn i'm told so will be there in 2013. Hopefully as Eric is living in LA now we'll get a few gigs out of him :)

you and me

is it pure coincidence that the djs following the lightvegas twitter account are the residents for ushuaia and light? (namely.. luciano and pete tong).

vegas could use a more diverse selection of talent seeing its unlimited budget these days if it wishes to be an "ibiza."
