here's a depressing thought for today:

Last night, while you were excitedly ringing in the new year with friends, family, and perhaps your lover(s), many the world over were suffering in their own way - perhaps going hungry another night in the cold, being tortured by psychopathic and ruthless militias, raped or mutilated, etc etc.

I think about it quite often, actually :(

I love the finicky uproar over this whole pink slime thing. I'm not saying fast food is nutritious, but have these people ever seen meat in its natural state? No, not the nice little packages you get at your grocery store where they have dyed it to make it appear homogeneous and somehow appetizing (??) but primal cuts- you know, the sporadic marbling of fatty tissue amid red and gray musculature? Hey, if we grind it up and add chemicals to keep it from accruing bacteria (because it's MEAT), it's really rather a pink slurry of protein. in' funny, that.

Oh yeh, adding anti bacterials to hundreds of thousands of kids lunches every day is such a great idea.

We can't all eat soap like you do.
Psyshell
All it's going to do is cause bacteria to become resistant to those anti bacterials very quickly; thus rendering them useless and requiring another batch of anti bacterials to have to be developed (and someone's gotta pay for the R&D... or maybe that's the point).

I know, lets use every anti bacterial ever developed on the school kid's lunches... that'll keep them healthy!

More quickly than infirm logic.

I'm sure you can find plenty of studies that argue both for and against the common use of anti bacterials. I shall find some decent sources later.
