There should be a rule on ta for only one account per person, not a handful! |
I don't think this person has multiple accounts. If anything, it's some one that hasn't posted on here for years with their regular account. |

You even responded to his post last time; he implies these 3 are the same. |

Insomniac is what happened. Giant was one of the first promoters to take advantage of booking talent for multiple events/venues. Another promoter couldn't book . Insomniac mastered that process. |

Since its debut in Los Angeles last summer, Awakening has become a weekly haven for us to experience the music of the world’s leading trance & progressive performers. In the beginning of the new year, we expanded the party to Northern California giving more of you the chance to be a part of the wonderful energy of our Awakening journey.
Now, as we approach the one-year anniversary of this incredible event, Insomniac is excited to partner with Eventvibe to deliver you the Awakening experience across the entire California coast. Beginning May 4th, Insomniac brings you Awakening San Diego.
Awakening San Diego will take us on an audiovisual adventure every Saturday at a new venue in San Diego's Gaslamp District: Bassmnt. This brand new nightclub provides the perfect environment for the exhilarating vibes of Awakening, fostering a special place for all of us to come together and bask in the beauty of dance music. We are excited to be a part of the opening of Bassmnt and look forward to the expanding the weekly Insomniac family to San Diego.
Bassmnt awakens on May 4th for the launch event. Lineup will be revealed soon! |

| I was at Voyeur a couple weeks ago and confirmed that Shockey/LED lost the Wavehouse summer bid. I only assumed it was the new Eventvibe/Insomniac takeover as there seems to be no other promoters throwing actual big parties. |

They didn't loose a bid.
The new owners (of the place) don't want to have the party there.
They have something almost in place, we will see in a few weeks. |

Dave pulled out of venues because he hated managing them. He wanted to be a ghost fund man, sitting back and reaping the benefits of his years of networking. He just got fed up when he became the sole booking agent for all shows at a venue. It wasn't what he wanted from everyone I heard from.
That's why when Giant left Spin, Tim & Eventvibe moved in there for a while during the collapse of On Broadway. It is interesting to see Tim moving into Bssmnt (the new name for Belo). I miss the days of jumping from Belo to OBEC and getting in to killer shows for $10 total with in-&-out stamps.
From what I heard, that's the story with Giant now. Dave is strictly investing into properties, and letting other groups book the shows for the most part. He isn't really all that interested in booking shows anymore. I think I heard somewhere that he bought into the ownership group behind Avalon, as well as into the group that owns Sound in LA.
It wouldn't surprise me if that article about 4th & B is true - Giant used to throw Friday nights there before they moved to Belo. One of my first big nights out was the St. Patrick's Day Boris MD / Armin van Buuren / Markus Schulz show Giant threw there under the "LOVE" Fridays banner. |
