WOuld anyone be up for a mixing contest?
We each get a multitracked song with no fx on the channels, and everybody mixes it to their liking and people vote on who's the best mixing engineer? Get some prizes up in here and .. I dunno, any takers?
Raphie

Are we talking just a pure MIXING excercise, is it also a compositional competition?
Raphie
Would guess just a # of full lenght stems, no cutting chopping or adding/dreplacing content allowed?

I'd prefer pure mixing alone, no moving parts etc, but fx we have free reign in terms of dynamics, compression fx, delays etc.

I wont be interested if it's a standard remixing contest - far too many of them around.

Sign me up.

I reckon it will be easier to manage if don't allow compostional edits (engineering edits fine, for things like any inaccuracies in timing etc). Obviously some time based FX and layering could change the composition in technical terms but no remixing as such I think is the way to go.

My thoughts exactly.

Okay then, good to see there's a slight turn-up at least. I'm gonna see if I can get some s to sponsor some prizes and stuff.

Anybody got hookups on some stems that would work well for this contest?

I heard DjRyan has some stems you can use.
Rodri Santos
we could pick stems from free royalty samples such as vengeance or something better, you can find riffs, guitars, string loops and obviously kicks, snares, hats there. The riffs could be done by yourself if you wish same as bass.
