I guess they're going to be announcing DJs one at a time each day or something. Steve Aoki was announced today, and my guess is the cheese will be flowing for the next few weeks, then some good names and hosted stages will start popping up.

I hope I get Tomorrowland Tix. The trick is to know someone in Belgium since they get first pick a week before the rest of the world. I plan on doing Kazantip also with this vacation.

Especially since they're allocating more tickets for Belgium this year. Approximately 50% of all the tickets being sold will go to Belgium in the first wave. Then you have to figure at least another 20% are going to the travel packages. That leaves roughly 30% or about 50,000 tickets for the rest of the world on international sale day. Ouch.
Instead of making it easier, they're making it harder to buy tickets.

I would recommend calling your credit card company and letting them know that you are going to make a purchase overseas if you are going to buy tickets. I remember last year some people were able to access the page to buy tickets but their credit card company rejected the transaction because they thought it was fraudulent. When they finally got everything sorted, tickets were sold out.

I guess I'll have a plan B. Ibiza sounds good but would be so much extra money. Possibly Nature One or Dance Valley.

I can't wait to hear everyone's luck when the time comes. It's like the lottery numbers are being drawn and we're waiting to see who wins.

Just a heads up, it looks like they've changed their FAQ to update the policy on ticket resales. Last year you were able to gain access into the festival as long as you had a copy of the person who gave you the tickets ID or passport and a signed note. That looks like it isn't the case this year, and any wristband that is scanned without being with the person who bought the ticket will be instantly blacklisted.
I checked the FAQ when they first updated for 2013 about a month ago and it still had said you could give the tickets to another person. That portion is now removed, so this is definitely new.
quote:
Name changes are not possible. Tickets are final! However, small spelling mistakes should not cause any problems. You can only use the Exchange Desk to sell your ticket, which will no longer be used by you (= name change).
quote:
You can only sell your ticket if other people are still looking for your type of ticket. From May you can register your tickets at the online Exchange desk, if you want to resell them. If someone is interested in buying your tickets (people who register for the waiting list), we will refund the cost of the ticket to your bank account. If there is no demand for your ticket, you won’t get your money back.
quote:
Some sites will offer you tickets for Tomorrowland. They operate by ordering these tickets from the official sales market and then selling these tickets on for an inflated price (not the official ticket price). We do not approve of these practices and have done everything possible to ensure that tickets go to fans at the correct retail price. Thanks to advances in technology we have been able to tackle the usurious trade in tickets more intensively. All tickets have their own unique barcode and will be scanned on entry to the festival. Those tickets we establish have been re-sold illegitimately, will be blacklisted and will not allow you access to the festival. Therefore we advise you not to buy your tickets via a secondary market as the validity of these tickets cannot be guaranteed and access to the festival may be refused.
So basically don't try to buy tickets to scalp, or don't buy off of eBay or any other source outside of the exchange desk, or you're screwed.

i wish all festivals did this, except obviously they should allow some exceptions (but not enough to make scalping reasonable)

That's good news. Should prevent people from buying multiple tickets and reselling them, which means more for the rest of us.

Travel packages on sale this weekend.
Markus is playing an extended set on Friday for the entire duration of the day/night it looks like. I dunno if I recall ever seeing someone bust out an extended set like this at a major festival...
