That, and the bookings are just getting tier.

Deadly combo.

Yes... they're booking people that can fill the place. The good bookings seem to be going to smaller venues with a smaller capacity, one room, all music, all appreciating...

and a bigger :haha: at "the best dj's". It's sad that most people won't catch that either. Did the editor even finish grade 4?

The video was actually pretty entertaining, because it was so over the top. It looked like they were trying to save the world ,Transformers style.

And they can't cater to a demographic who comes out once a month if that, usually for free because they all know someone by now, or in for cheaper, and when they do it's at 1am and they buy some import beer and a few rounds of bombs and then "whatever else"...

I'm all for the music being cutting edge and ahead of the curve and all that elitest bull. But if I owned a giant massive superclub, I'd play polkastep if that's what got kids spending $200 a pop on over priced ty vodka and fake redbull and coming in at 11pm every Saturday night...

This is why I stopped complaining about the Guv's bookings. I don't spend enough money there, and never have. If I'm not willing to spend the money on a business, I can't complain when they cater to a different demographic.

The Gallery seems to bring out some good DJs. I've been blown away by some of the internationals (Paco Osana) and locals playing there. I think the Gallery is still open? I'm not sure. Anyway, yeah despite their bookings, the club itself is pretty good just wish their DJ choices were better.

Sadly not. The Gallery will be open on the 26th for the first time since their Hallowe'en party (the one the night before Thriller). Before that I honestly can't remember the last time it's been open. The only reason it's open on the 26th is because my promoter friend insisted on throwing his party there. Really is sad because that was always my favourite room at guv... even after the renovations I didn't like.

I honestly think the OP is trolling. Anyone who follows this board even haphazardly knows about the negative reception Guv gets! Come on, Guv club, did you think we were gonna share your enthusiasm?

you do know that there's a high percentage of lurkers on TOTA...

Guv is probably top 10 in terms of actual venue, bottom 10 in terms of bookings. sad, but once underground hipster crowd like most of us grew up and stop going to the guv every weekend, the guv had to fill the club with a new crowd. z103 commercial garbage edm crowd.

I'll still go to the guv every time Digweed gets booked and maybe the Gift

You hit the nail on the head sir!

Im not trying to brag but i've been to a few other world class clubs/super clubs last year and.... get ready for it... The Guv is almost an exact carbon copy of what they got in Ibiza, NYC, Amsterdam....

With the exception of a wider spectrum of bookings and a new sound system... We still got it good with Guv and ink... But I didn't vote for them this year... lol

Anyways My Top 5 of 2012 - Space Ibiza, Club Air Amsterdam, New City Gas Montreal (awesome sauce lol), Privledge Ibiza, Ceilo NYC
The Rattler
Yeah not anymore, sorry.
klm21
Watergate, Berlin
Coolest place I went to last year for sure.

Studio 80, Amsterdam

Trouw, Amsterdam

Stereo, Montreal

Perron, Rotterdam

If the place was empty you could say that. They are filling the place up with bookings you wouldnt go to, but it doesnt mean its bookings.

By your logic anything you dont like is , which is pretty self absorbed.

When the d.js' clapping sounds louder than the noise he plays, I'd say that is a booking..no matter where it is.

Prydz is back!

so maybe there's still hope for some good music for OLD people! lol ;)
