What's a good word for a gadget for your gadget?
Sorry if it's a silly questions, but I need it for a project and I can't come up with any good.. words.. Errrrr |

More like an accessory for your accessory..
Edit: I feel like I wanna put either para- or meta- in front of it, but I don't think any of those are the word I'm looking for.. |

A meta-gadget?
"Meta" implies you're taking it to the next level (metalanguage is language concerning language, for example), whereas para- can either refer to something similar (para-medic) or that is parallel to what you're talking about (para-psychology). A para-gadget would imply it's like a gadget, but not quite.
Personally, if it's a piece of software, I reckon you can simplify things and either call it an app or an add-on. Or, better yet, and app-on :D |

It's sort of kind of music, but not not quite quite :p
Serious answer: Japanese has tons of onomatopoeia-like words such as "pera pera" (to speak fluently), "pika pika" (to sparkle... and, yes, that's the origin or Pikachu's name, "chu" being the sound mice make), and "botsu botsu" (to be scattered, or do something veeeeeery slowly and irregularly). "Para para" also refers to things when they are scattered, and to the sound of pages flipping... so I assume this is the origin of the word. Couldn't really find anything in either language :( |

I was hoping there existed a word somewhere between meta and para,
that would sufficiently say "we gots for your , yo". |

What does the trans- prefix do? Does that mean beyond?:conf:
Edit: Or is it like short for transform, and just means it has taken a new form? |

Trans is like across, or crossing. I think? LOL.
Edit: Googled it. "Used with the meanings “across,” “beyond,” “through,” “changing thoroughly,” “transverse,” in combination with elements of any origin". |

What Stu said.
Trans- means there's a crossing of some sort, and this meaning can be extended to "change" if it changes from one form to another (in the sense that you go from one form to another, hence transform in which you go beyond one form to the other).
The "Fer" in "transfer" used to mean carry, so when you transfer something, you "carry something across (that is, from one side/person to the other). So a transgadget would be something that crosses gadgets, like a transsexual crosses sexes and a transnationals are corporations or organisations that extend beyond national borders.
