Saw him at Cielo in 2010 before his downward turn. If this had been then, I'd be all over this. Sadly his sets, much like his productions now, are crap.

Agreed

Yeah I saw him before the awfulness kicked in too. He was awesome then.

I think I saw SvD at pacha in 08 with Cosmic Gate and Southern Sun.

He dropped his grasshopper

This, along with the likes of Bliksem, Daisy, Ninety, etc... I LOVED that sound he had.

When I look at the picture on his promo... it just screams douchebag a la Gareth Emery.

LOL.

you just gotta love that 70s Burt Reynolds pair of sunglasses.
Somehow somethings that sucked back when just shouldn't come back (ditto long sideburns and their return 10-15 years ago)

SvD just another illustration of "return to the mean"

inverse relationship between quality of output and mass appeal / success.

always been that way, "sell-out" is just one way of saying it.
And it isn't gonna change, because who can resist the lure of RCMH and larger sized shows?
It's almost asking too much of someone, if all it takes to make $$$ is to make crap

It's always interesting to see prices on these pop events, so:

>>Female Presale $50.00
>>Male presale tickets are now SOLD OUT.

that'll be a nice mix in the crowd, right?

>>Ticket holders must arrive before 12:30AM

maybe I'm judgemental, but it's bull:
one of the main resons to buy an adv. ticket is to be guaranteed entry at all times, so that if you come late (for whatever reason) you can get in.

Here you're just being treated like a door-tix walk up.
Don't know how they enforce it, but if they don't enforce, why bother with this?

Also, what's the point?
If the person doesn't show up, it's not like they forego that extra bit of revenue, the spot's already been paid for.

Only thing I could see is:
that no-show / late show isn't blowing money at the bar; the GA door person they slip inside instead of the no-show COULD spend some money at the bar.

Still seems sort of cynical.

He was great at ADE 2011, but there is no way he will do anything exciting at Marquee that you couldn't hear in a recorded set.

Yeah I miss that filthy, tech sound that he once pioneered. What disgrace how far he's fallen. He destroyed his legacy, along with the rest of the circus clowns, Armin's the Ringmaster.
