They're here at least 2-3 times a year and in Montreal about 5. It's just sad that almost every tribal dj has moved on to tech-house because it's the "in" sound right now. If they continued playing the drums they'd stand out among the rest as djs that can bring something different to the table, but just like you said, they now play boring generic tech house like everyone else and aren't anything special anymore. Carlos Fauvrelle is at Footwork next weekend and there's just no reason to see him because he's not going to play any better than countless Toronto DJs that continue to play music out of the same pile on beatport.
I'm going to see C+C on the 20th at Stereo because I've heard from a lot of people they always play different there and it's nothing like their Toronto sets. One last time before I write them off all together :nervous:

I've seen them at Stereo quite a few times and they always kill it. They bring an awesome (drum filled) vibe that you can't help but dance to.

keep us posted on how they do at stereo...everyone keeps telling me to come up for them cause they always kill it. to me they have been so generic for the past few years i lost faith on them
but if they gonna spin hours upon hours of pure drums than i think i will do it one day

Tribal is ok in small doses. Tribal all night === boring.
Good hors d'oeuvres from Daniel et Daniel last night (there's my review of the night).

i will agree to some extent, yea it can get a lil boring sometimes
but if this was still 2001 or even 2005 they made it work thru out the whole night
doesnt have to be peak hour stuff. can start out dark and progressive but with some percussion and build it up from there
its alot better than the generic cookie cutter stuff they play now

I remember their first ever toronto appearance at jai bar. I also remember leaving bored and subsequently never really buying into their sound / vibe after that (seeing them a few times here and there over the years).
That was over a decade ago in the heyday of tribal. The music I listen too today is completely different then the stuff I liked 10 years ago. I can't imagine being a dj and playing the exact same style of music a decade later. I get bored of the same sounds after a couple of years with dance music. I'm sure it's the same with these guys and alot of other djs.
It's kind of unrealistic / unreasonsable to expect these guys to be playing the same way after a decade. If they were they'd probably have just as many detractors saying they are played out, haven't progressed with the times and are dated.
