I'd say it's not nearly as groundbreaking as the Mountains EP, but this guy's style is so unique and lush so that an album is certainly welcome.

Picked the wrong time of year to release this, in my opinion. DjRUM is not sunshine music.

Eh? I think his stuff makes for perfect summer nighttime music. I certainly don't view it as fall/winter music. Way too jazzy and melodic for that. Similarily, Deepchord/Echospace (except for coldest season, obviously) is anything but sunshine music but it really comes to life on those hazy summer nights.

Firstly, "jazzy and melodic" is a terrible description of DjRUM, secondly jazz is the ultimate autumn music and thirdly, his music is deeply melancholic which is not what summer is about for me, day or night.

For me, there's "warm" and "cold" melancholia and the warm type also can work in the summer. Djrum falls in the warm category.
To expand on my deepchord example, here's a track that's anything but happy and upbeat but it still oozes with warmth and summery hazyness.

I don't know why you keep mentioning DeepChord. Obviously an album themed around stumbling around Amsterdam at night-time while stoned out of your box is going to work on a summer night, because that's the kind of behaviour I associate with summer nights: it doesn't get dark until 9-10pm so if you are out and about in the darkness you're probably intoxicated, you've probably had a good time, you may well be on holiday... it just isn't melancholic.
Although having said that, I made my first post at work where I couldn't hear any samples, and having played the clips now it doesn't sound nearly as mournful as his prior EPs, and it does sound warmer and hazier... almost "DjRUM goes Hotflush", so perhaps I should put more trust in a master mood craftsman.

Listened twice through the preview and it sounds like it should be great. Last stuff I heard was the Watermark release, and honestly was starting to doubt him but it looks like he took his time with this which I respect. I like how his music makes me feel different ways when listening. Kind of depressing but warm and enveloping.
I'm really tempted to get that LP but it will gouge my wallet.

It does look purty though, eh? Wish they had a CD to be honest but those tracks should sound extra toasty on the wax. Wouldn't be bad to frame either, artwork is nice.

Yep! But with Record Store Day this weekend, I'll have to put this one on the to-buy-later list :)

Got the LP and just put the mp3s on the ipod. Gonna listen to them later.
