What was the first trance track ever produced?

I don't mean psytrance or ambient, but a trance song as we define trance nowadays.

Something you could slip in a set without anyone hearing it was produced years ago.

My guess: Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance (Bonzai 003, 1994)

Any ideas?

Hmmm.. My memories around that time were only Faithless - Insomnia and God is a DJ :)

Think Insomnia was out in 95? I'm not sure.. (might be totally wrong)

Earliest I can think of is:

Cosmic Baby - Heavens Tears (November 1992)

And Taucher - Miracle, around the same time.

Ah, I never knew that. I never knew of anything he had done other than his BBE stuff with Emmanuel Top and Bruno Quartier. Do you know if there was anything else prior to the BBE project that both the Bruno's did? And if so what style were they? I know Emmanuel Top's previous productions were acid and it was a big surprise when him and the other two came up with 'Seven Days & One Week' in 1996 as it was a world away from any of Emmanuel Top's previous work.

Somewhere around 91 and 92. Many of the yearly trance releases were produced from Germany.
I know that Cosmic Baby and Jam&Spoon, maybe even Dance 2 Trance are one of the first trance acts.

there was a thread on this a while back, and it turned out to be Giorgio Moroder - The Chase from back in 78
it's one of the first tunes that uses trance elements in...so haha :p
