Ever notice that many NYTA's (maybe its the same everywhere, don't know) love either super dope 'purist' trance or super dark richie-like techno... and deep house.
Where are the similarities between Gaiser, JOC and Lee Foss that make us love them so? |

You know I'll end up getting heated. No matter how creatively you debate your point, Pauly D still sucks ;) |

| i think alot of TA's go through a progression of changes when it comes to music, for me i went from trance to house (in 04) to techno (08) |

True.
Started with trance (progressive, not uplifting stuff) in 08 and ended up with house and techno.
But some of us here still love Sun & Moon. |

i like different music for different scenarios.
when i'm alone, or driving, or listening at work - it's usually stuff i consider top notch.
if i'm out with friends, at a huge party, dancing around with girls, drinking, etc - i'm willing to enjoy music that is "not as high quality" in sacrifice for a good time.
that doesn't mean i'm going to all out yolo at a skrillex party but i'm not going to pigeon hole myself into only enjoying a live show if it's an awesome tale of us journey set and complain if its anything else.
i think NYTAs probably have the best taste in music around in terms of quality, originality and skill/talent from the producers - but for me, going out for dance music shows is about having a good time with friends more so than making sure every single track the DJ plays is a 10/10 and that every single transition is perfect. i very much enjoy and appreciate when those things happen but if they don't, who ing cares as long as you're enjoying yourself?
that's why lucien is my favorite DJ - his DJ skills are second to none, his sound is 100% distinguishable (besides other cadenza artists, i can't think of one other DJ that has the same vibes live) but most importantly, he always throws a great party with people who want to dance (instead of just stand around), with a lot of women and with a great atmosphere.
i try to straddle the line between being a bit snobby (the nyta lifestyle lol) with my music but always keeping an open mind to anything.
at the end of the day, who are we to say what's good or bad? who are we to say that what you listen to sucks but what we listen to is better? |
