Armin Review [Philadelphia]

Let me just say he played a good set; my mom, wife, and I had a great time but WOW do I feel old! I think the average age at this show was 19-20. It was just a sea of neon greens and pinks of girls wearing next to nothing and boys with goofy glasses and shoes. Every now and then you'd see a bottle full of something get tossed from somewhere, which showed the maturity of the crowd. But I will say that the people I ran into were all nice and having a good time.

Armin started about the first 45 to an hour of his set playing some tracks that had the catchy sounds of today's popular music and then he started taking the set into a direction of actual trance. He played a remix of Burn With Desire and Communication; which was funny because my mom and I knew those tracks immediately and got really excited but looking around at the crowd, it was just another song for everyone.

If he comes around to Philly again, I'd probably go. I do miss his club sets but he's obviously too big now for night clubs. All in all, it was a good fun time. My wife got her first experience listening to trance out live and this was my mom's second time seeing Armin and she had an absolute blast!

Ride The Wave vs Burned With Desire..friend texted me at 11:30 saying he killed it..show stopped early bc of the weather..i can't make any conclusions without a tracklist but since Philly aint a spot thats a regular stop, the hits from the past 8 months were probably played with a dose of Intense..maybe a new remix of one the album songs..we'll see

damn i love that mash up. im sure he put on a good show for philly. he should close with that track. when i was at MSG it was like no one knew Born Slippy or any of those classics. sad

Missed you there for the master tracklist. :)

I couldn't really ID much; I haven't seen him in the past 5 or 6 years and haven't really kept up either but I think he did play some tracks from his new album. The intro track and This Is What It Feels Like, which I really like a lot. My first time hearing it and I thought it was an excellent tune. But yes, he played really well and I enjoyed most of it till the very end. A shame it got cut early but it was a fun time regardless.

played Arnej's Adagio, some Born Slippy remix and that Highstate Of Consciousness ,Kervansaray, and Revolution 909 mashup..which is fire..i think that his MSG set was the best out of all the ASOT 600 sets..

was thinking about going James but 3 hour set in Philly plus expenses..just wasnt worth it to me..still lovin ya techno right? lol

Absolutely but I still try to listen to trance too. I go up in the loft and hammer out the classics every now and then on my turntables. :)

Here's a vid someone took of This Is What It Feels Like. Such a great track!
