BT mad at Porter Robinson??

So I was reading my twitter feed like any other twitter user would and see BT on twitter talking about how he discovered Porter Robinson on myspace and shared his music with other Electronic music producers BUT...

"I asked around to my peers & friends @tiesto @arminvanbuuren @djadamk (and more) Guys, have you heard Porter Robinson? None of them had. People began to take notice of Porter. He got his first big remix for Lady Gaga and then @tiesto (finally listened) and took him on tour. I was elated. This felt like a personal victory. I'd invested a tremendous amount of my social commodity into someone young and truly gifted

Before long Porter was more reclusive, harder to reach, surrounded by a team of advisers. It was just beginning to blow up for him. Not only was I understanding of this (because I've walked it) but also excited for him. Anyway, quickly Porter seemed too cool to interact

The music we'd began Porter claimed he couldn't finish because he didn't have time or couldn't get anything good going amongst other things

And this put a really bad taste in my mouth and I was personally affronted by this. It honestly hurt my feelings a considerable amount.I've noted similar behavior in other young producers & it made me feel like the generation of guys coming up now are self focused & selfish

Here's the thing. When I was coming up someone helped me a similar way @sashaofficial. He gave me an opportunity that can never be replayed

And I vowed to do the same thing someday when I could and I have done it repeatedly. It feels great to pay it forward and most importantly

To remember that whatever you do, there has always been help to achieve it that deserves acknowledgement. That & especially in dance music(and listen up young producers) So much has come before you to make what you do possible. It deserves your acknowledgement and respect

I gave mine in my times of comeuppance and so should you all that walk that path.
So for my part, the sh**tty email I wrote you when you let me down (for all the aforementioned reasons) I'm sorry for. Your a real talent @porterrobinson and I did then and do now want your music to be heard by everyone that will listen. It's awesome. So I hope you (and other young producers reading this) take this as a cautionary tale. Remember to act with respect and pay it forward. **END RANT**"

not something one would say in public but I do understand BT's frustration. Porter does one thing well. His career could end next year. BT has a rather wide network of connections that extend well beyond the EDM scene. But who knows the actual story. I would way drugs and women are more behind any sort of reclusiveness as he tries to sleep for the next show.

Yes I thought so too, one has to be really annoyed to say this in public, not to mention in the internet.. but someone has to speak the truth someday.

First thing that popped up. Who the hell is Porter Robinson?
Then I read that "tiesto took him on tour" bit. And I was, ok chances are big that it's .
A quick tour out on youtube and listened to that Language track. Yes indeed.
BT needs to focus on his own music rather on a ty untalented prick like this.

I don't think Porter Robinson is any better than a thousand of producers out there, edm has never been objective, you can't measure how good is a track, you can measure sales, fans etc... i just feel he has been extremely lucky that being just above average in production terms he is now considered like a star.

If he is a twat sooner or later it will pay off, when i got money without effort i spent it in an absolutely idiotic way, now that i've to sweat to earn it i am more cautious, guess this applys to not enough deserved fame, sooner or later you'll it up because you haven't covered all the necessary steps to be there and you are in a position you are simply not prepared to be.

On a sidenote if a big name, say BT or any other, puts his trust on me be sure i'd work hard as to make the most of this chance and later on it's manners to return the favour.

not sure how you can not see the skill unless you have some sort of hang up or just don't understand the concept to see when someone is or isn't skilled. He is a skilled producer wether you hate the style of music or not.

It is subjective but to a point. You will not find a competent producer claiming that the guy is a hack. You will find lots of hacks saying the guy is not competent.

He is good, i don't like his tunes, that's true but not as good as people think. Just my opinion the tune with Mat Zo for me was weak and "Language" is just another track from me, if he has done something worth mentioning apart from this i don't know.

this was done in 2010 which was before the whole skrillex massive preset swapping / tutorials you now find on youtube. It is kinda impressive given the fact that he did not emerge after the main rush of that sort of electro house they call complextro which i just hate using.

t is a bit ironic in that as lolo was probablly hinting at, BT despite being talented , was in many ways carried to fame in that he had no experience with production and was only a musician with potential until a few people showed him some things. And the fact that BT seems to be mad at a child .... It is pretty hard to handle success at that age. Bt should at least understand that perhaps it isn't so personal.
