i dont think that it's because they're poor or exploited or have low self-esteem, altho i think in sum cases that mite be true

ultimately it comes down to them enjoying sex on a well-paying job :D

yeah. exactly. i was watching this show about pornstars and marriage and and surprisingly quite a number of them are married to other stars.

it's like hollywood and how all the stars are dating/married to one another. same goes for pornstars i guess. *shrugs*

hhmmm... some very interesting point of views here :)

However, don't you guys think being a porn actor(actrees) is choosing the "easy way" in life, which may be not so satisfying in the future, when you look back in your life and realise you didn't really learn much?

I think porn stars are much like prostitutes.
Once the money starts coming in, it's hard to stop.
Some of the 'hookers' here in Toronto are absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous.
I asked myself, "Why would someone as beautiful as they are be in this line of work?" Then I thought, "Where else they going to make the kind of $$ they're making for the short amount of time that they do work?"
Definately not in this everyday work-a-day-world.
It could be that they either know they won't make it anywhere else or they're trapped by the $$ they're making and mentally excuse themselves from their morals, convincing themselves that they 'love' what they're doing. :conf:

Sad reality in either case. :sadgreen:

I think most porn stars are just exhibitionists and/or nymphomaniacs.

That may be true to some extent, but please don't stereotype everyone in the industry. I have two friends in the adult entertainment industry. One friend started as a fluffer and now works full time. She hasn’t really made any major films but works about 30 weeks a year, each production takes about a week or so to shoot and she is paid $2,000-$2,500USD per production. She has told me that she treats it like any other type of job: get up…go to work…do the job…go home.
The other started in softcore, photos mostly, then worked into more hardcore films. She had told me that she decided, since the mainstream movie business was too difficult to get into, and she wanted to work in films, that porn was the way to get noticed. I understand that she enjoys the work and doesn’t feel that she is jeopardizing her career in “legitimate” acting by working in porn.
So both of them are satisifed with the work they are doing. That's more than many people in the world today who complain about their jobs.

The reason why gorgeous porn-stars remain porn stars, is because they've got a bad reputation.
No modelling agency would hire a model who was a porn star. I actually read an interview with one such *star*, who said that she wanted to quit porn and go into hollywood, but nobody wanted her in hollywood because of her past.

That can't be too true.
What about Gillian Anderson, David Duchevny and Traci Lords then?

Coup and Fir3start3r are practically right...the way i see this, is a gorgoues women who sells her body for a living has no respect for herself  making porn, sure its easy and fast paying, but its not the way to go. everything will stay with you, the society you will live in will reflect on you and your friends. yes your reputation will be drown down quickly...

See, I guess this is where I need morals! lol. I would have no problem at all with this. I mean, you get to bang the hell out of alot of hot broads, you know it's safe, there is no attachment and you GET PAID! Holy Hell! I may have just found my profession! lol.

I mean, I see exactly why they do it, it's kind of a no-brainer. When you look past what YOU think of as right and wrong there are alot of things in this world that begin to make sense.

If someone was to approach me on the street about it my response would probally be "Yeah, and damn was she good" or "Yeah, you should have seen what happened later that night!" :D

When you start talking about people with different moral values than yourself you have to adjust your point of veiw.

ok just from what i know... first off it isn't easy to become a REAL pornstar. of course nowadays there are millions of ameuters out there, but to actually become a mainstream pornstar is quite difficult, especially for men. the process is basically this... most of the girls start out as strippers, get approached for greater opportunities and then accept and interview i.e. a lot hehehe. there are certain qualities that the girls need to possess in order to appeal to the different audiences which i won't get into, but its more then just laying on your back. i'm not saying that its hard work once your in the rolls, but until that... its not like your neighbor can just say one day i want to make porn and there she is on the cover of smut.

as far as the moral implications. i don't know i'm not a big religious person, but i guess if thats your thing then, THERE GOIN' TO HELL hehe. when it comes down to it i don't care one way or the other, it doesn't effect me one way or the other.

PS. i know a guy who works for vivid videos so what i'm saying isn't complete rubbish:tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3

The moral aspect is irrelevant. There are millions upon millions of people just like you who have no moral objection to what they are doing. People who say they have ruined their reputation are silly, because the only people who will look down upon former porn stars are the closed-minded people whose opinions aren't worth five cents anyway. It wont adversely affect their future lives - it will just force them to associate with people who see nothing wrong with what they have done (and such people are much more enjoyable to associate with anyway).

Cheers,

Arbiter
