not the 1st time Afrojack has jumped into the pool at EBC with his fans...

Ya I know, he does it all the time. Him and Aoki did it together last year as well.

Lavo was a blast all weekend! Great to meet some of you - thanks for coming out and being a part of this.

really enjoyed the afterparties at LAVO. I was initially concerned about they're being at LAVO, but turned out to be really good there.

It was cool finally meeting Sleepy and Boo after all these years of attending some of their parties. They truly are a nice couple just like they seem on these forums.

Looking forward to EDC vegas next year. it's as good as the music is going to get in Vegas.

The ratio is a lot better here. 2 things I thought was awesome about Afrojack. There was a group of people rocking out super hard in the front. Well Afro emptied out a bottle of water and filled it with Grey Goose and pointed to them like "share" the bottle with the crowd. The second was, once he was done with his set he went and raged with the crowd and then jumped into the pool and swam with a HUGE entourage of fans and a big mob of people following him. Yeah he's cheese crap pop blah blah blah music, but you got to respect that some what,

Here's a pic I snapped from yesterday, the female ratio is a lot better here:

Sorry, but there is nothing "awesome" about afrojack. That crowd would "rock out" to Liberace if they were told it's the new cool thing to do. Jumping in a pool and being worshipped by your fans is hardly a difficult task or chore. I mean, these people are paying you good money for you to press play on your premixed set of mindless commercial pop, the least you can do is fist pump a bit.

When was the last time you saw a DJ give over half of his/her bottle of vodka to share with the crowd? When was the last time you saw a DJ of that caliber other than Markus participate with the crowd like that?

Think what you think about his music, what he does for his fans is pretty awesome. Same with deadmau5, say what you say about his music, but you can't deny that the dude goes out of his way for the fans. Which IMHO is awesome.

I've seen quite a few dj's do all that you described.

I don't like Afrojack because I think his music sucks. BUT... I think he's gotten a bit of a bad rap b/c of his history. I have to remind myself that the guy is pretty young and just having fun.

I'm not usually one to post negative stuff, but Afrocrack is a douche. Anybody that i've ever talked to that has met him has said the same thing. I met him briefly once and he was classless.

Moreover, he has no respect for other dj/artists. I've personally seen him talk over the mic when other djs were playing (not related to him) and talk about how he's next and the the current musix sucks. I also heard this happen on a Sirius XM broadcast. Probably many more instances of this. Not cool.

I won't even get into the music, because that's a personal taste thing.

yup, i think same can be said about Chuckie too.

i forgot who it was, either Chuckie or Afrojack, but 3 yrs ago at electric zoo, i think he was on mic at the end of Markus Schulz' set and was saying i dont like this music, but Afrojack music is next or something.

did the same thing to above and beyond i believe.

Donald Glaude....probably the most interactive DJ with his fans...

Ferry Corsten...

and not for nothing but DT can still get down with him fans...this guy was rocking out when Joseph Capriati played in NYC....

I think everyone else has by now answered that question for me, but jst to add:

Sven Vath - google the video of him at Matter in London. He can't get to the crowd because the DJ booth is locked down so he climbs out of it on along the structure above to drop down and dance with the crowd. He was pretty ed and nearly killed himself just to get down with his fans.

Carl Cox - Last time I was at the Exchange last year, I happened to walk in to the VIP area behind the dj booth and Cox handed me and the two people I was with a glass of champagne each. I do not know him and I still have no idea why other than his endless supply of Moet is on his rider and he likes to be generous with it.

I was at Sasha @ sound in Hollywood a few months back and Mr. C (he of the Superfreq/ shamen) was just walking around having a good time and getting down with everyone. He wasn't even playing that night.

To be honest, there's tons of big names that will party with their crowd. Giving away a comped bottle of grey goose hardly wins him the nobel peace prize, and as other have pointed out, he's been an utter douchebag in too many other circumstances to count.
