When Armin played at my friend's radio station last month in Toronto, he asked them to let all his fans that were outside the station into the studio with him. He than hung out with them for a bit.

PVD is a very serious looking guy but he loves his fans. After one of his gigs at Vanguard, I was hanging out with him just talking about production. Very cool and down to earth guy. During another gig of his, his Serato CD's were missing so I lent him mine. A week later, he sent me a package with new CD's, T-shirts, and collectors white vinyl worth over $500.

John 00 Fleming once invited a bunch of us TA's to have breakfast with him after his gig at Spundae.

One day, I was at MNS and I heard somebody yell my name. I turn around and it was James Zabiela. I didn't know him, but it turned out he used to read TA pretty frequently so that's how he knew my name. And, another time after his gig in Tijuana, he invited Julia and I to have breakfast with him and the promoters after his gig. He was goofing around and taking funny pictures of us.

Ferry at Space during WMC was playing to just a handful of us TA's on the main room til like noon. Than he told all of us to go with him to check out Sander K on the terrace.

I could keep going, but I won't.

Think what you think about his music, what he does for his fans is pretty awesome. Same with deadmau5, say what you say about his music, but you can't deny that the dude goes out of his way for the fans. Which IMHO is awesome.

I think Nero just got

I am talking about DJs of that caliber.

Not all these random guys. I never said that there were NO djs that did that. I just said that it was RARE at that caliber. And by that caliber I mean the guys that are locking in multimillion dollar deals in Vegas. Not the 50k guys, that most of you guys are referring to. But I'm sticking up for a top 40 house DJ on TA, there's no way to win with you guys.

And Sven is a ing DICK! I have met him 3? times, he's not that dope of a person.

I'm sure most djs you can tell stories of how they were cool at one time or how they weren't another.

Not to be a dick or anything - I bet if you took dollar for dollar compared to before the bloom of the market and today's WAY overpriced market you'd find Ferry and PVD made just as much if not more than Afrojack does.

The culture is different, the pay has exploded to ridiculous amounts, and all that. The point is, I've seen Afrojack treat people like a dick and treat them well. He does well at clubs and where people always put on a smile and a show. Most DJs in the Top 100 do. It's how they treat people on the street that would be much cooler to me - ala Armin pulling people out of the snow in Toronto at a radio show, BT hanging out in an Apple store just to talk with people during a software release party, or Laidback Luke just tossing some kindness to a homeless guy on the street.

Anyone that has some asinine request about Ferrari's on their rider needs to have their head checked. I don't care what genre they are in, they don't NEED an f-ing Ferrari to get around town at the expense of the house booking them. BTW, I know he isn't the only one that has that request, I just think its abnormally dumb for anyone to have that out there.

TL:DR -- Who cares what people make or how they act at a club? It's all image anyway.

"Random guys"?

Carl Cox? Sven vath? PVD?

Random? We'll still be talking about these guys in 5 years, yet the likes of Chuckup and Afrotwat won't be able to get laid in a brothel.

theres maybe 8 guys "locking up multimillion dollar deals" and from the 6 of those I have met, 2 weren't complete ing s (Calvin and Joel). Even then, i've heard other people say they have had their moments too.

Honestly, no personal offense but your standards in both people and music are pretty ing low. Giving away booze you got for free when you're getting paid more than a $1000 a minute (literally) to play top40 dross doesn't make you a hero; It makes your fans really dumb.

I never said total revenue you guys were looking into what I said WAYYYYYY to much. I am saying about what they are worth right now this exact second.

I am talking about the Guetta's the deadmau5's the Tiesto's all the DJ's that are making the MOST right now. Afrojack is one of them.

I was saying the act was awesome, who cares if the bottle was free and comp'd, who cares if the fans are douche's that was never my point. What my point was is that he did something that most guys on his caliber RARELY do and go out of their way (even if its a ing comp'd bottle) to spread the love to their fans.
