| Koolhaus is the best sound system I've come across in the city. |

| I've always found wrongbar difficult to deal with. But last night Gravity [z103!!!!] was probably worse |

I personally like Maison's sound system. Moskito is not too bad either. Not a fan of the fw soundsystem at all. Always get back home with ringing ears. Guv main room's sound system used to be pretty good and CZ too, back in the day. Haven't been to either in ages. Someone who's been there off late should have a more reliable opinion.
Yet to check out Cinema and Blk box. They both have fun funktion one sound systems. |

Oh yes. Blk box is great too. I went to check out Prosumer and barely had my earplugs in for the whole night. Went back home and had no ringing whatsoever, even though the sound was loud and clear the whole night. All signs of good sound and acoustics. |

BLK box is decent if its tuned but otherwise its not a very good funktion one install
Moskito is too much low and high, mids are pretty much absent ( i also have a feeling they also don't let it blast to it full potential).
Guv is terrible, FW system as well is overdue for a major overhaul ( its a decent system but as every system once in a while they have to tune it/upgrade it but the only upgrade i've seen there in last 5 years is monitors for the DJ...
Sound Academy main room is fantastic when they let it breathe.
Best i've heard in the city in last 3-4 years was an one off custom tuning of the Neutral's system for a psy trance event. (which is old Lucid system i think)
Second comes current JBL install at Kitch at dupont/dufferin. Seriously proper sound. I don't think it gets used enough though
Thymless on college is probably my old favorite though haven't been in year or so. Got riddims in there.
Haven't been to mainson, cinema, cube so acan't comment.
Best systems currently though are rental ;) (alienflux, 40hz and moi) |

Alieninflux in open air is phenomenal.
Moskito im pretty content with.
Koolhaus is generally great, although i havent been there in a couple years.
FW definitely needs an overhaul. Its the only thing holding back an otherwise stellar venue. |

I agree - Also find Moskito really bad for the most part. |

I've only been to CZ once, but I remember the sound system being remarkable.
Edit: "remarkable" is such a cop out as far as adjectives go. What I meant was that the sound system was ing awesome.
When I saw James Zabiela at Moskito, the sound was on point. The other times I've been there, it was painfully loud (thank goodness for earplugs).
I've always liked Footwork's sound system. Last night for Lee Burridge, the sound and music were awesome, in my opinion. In fact, last night was the first time I've ever not worn my earplugs inside Footwork, and my ears feel fantastic today.
Guv is loud and powerful, and the highs are extreme.
There was this Box of Kittens party at some Polish hall/club last year, and the sound set up they had there was just out of this world. I know little about the technical specs of sound systems, but I think they had 16 or 20 bass bins. It was just nuts and amazing.
The worst sound I've heard in Toronto was at Electric Island for Seth Troxler. But, sounds like they're improving things for the Canada Day show :) |
