That's what I would say. I'm no sound connoisseur, but the parties some of those guys handle always seem to sound the best. Kool Haus and Guvernment have always been top notch as well, though Guv can be a tad loud. BLK BOX is another good one. Most other places sound more or less the same to me, really.

The worst offenders would probably be Sound Academy and Hoxton. A particular shame in the case of the latter, considering it has the potential to be one of the best clubs in the city (great space, great bookings).
The Rattler
Overall I've always liked zones sound system the most. Moskito is second to me, I agree with another poster about the mids being almost non exiatant sometimes. The Basements sound system has always left me with ringing ears, along with ocassionqlly lily. Fw is good but too much bass. I haven't been to Guv in ages so i can't say much.

Yeah, The Hoxton is horrible--unless they bring in a rental sound system like they did for Richie on the Enter tour.

I've heard great things about BLK BOX, but have yet to check it out.

Sound imo also depends on where you are relative to the speakers and finding that sweet spot, Guv main room for example is well known in this regards

Last night at cherry beach for example there were spots where it was muffled and once moving to the other side closer to the right side speakers, the highs opened up significantly, but AF overall has a good consistent system.

Moskito, I haven't heard a good sound except for James Zabiela's gig as mentioned, both at Carl Craig and Maceo Plex I tried everywhere but the sound was missing something (the mids?), maybe they need to tweak it a bit, I also am under the impression that the DJs are told not to turn it up all the way and it seems the venue is keeping the levels capped at a certain point, could be wrong about it though, but it seems other people have noticed this too.

Good insight thus far!

Alieninflux in open air is phenomenal.

This is THE BEST system in all of Toronto. I've had the pleasure of playing on it at WEMF (RIP) and the attention to detail that Justin pays to it is second-to-none.

It's so warm and pumps without breaking the sound barrier. Punchy in all of the right places.

We'll find out this weekend won't we? ;)

Lets see what you got. TA has some serious listening experience, and even more cynicism.

If you please us this weekend, you've accomplished what very few have done.

Expecting great things :)
