Best Active Studio Monitors

hey guys,
i know this question has been asked a million times, but i couldn't find anything on it. i'm looking to buy a pair of good/reasonable price active/powered speakers for my own personal use. i'm looking for something that i can use for listening and mixing music as well as watching a movie on my computer.
what do u guys suggest?

| tannoy reveal 601a is best allround imo for the cost of nothing, not that detailed, not that flat but pretty nice to listen to, decent power and bass, and no surprices. active hifi if you will. if smaller room you can use 501a instead. the great thing about these are the front-directed bassport resulting you probably have less problems with the bass if placed close to a wall. |

| 601A's are exceptionally detailed for the money. Nothing touches them. |

| Your best bet is to go to a music store that demos a few pairs and listen for yourself. Find the one you like most, and buy that one or the smaller model if the demo pair is to expensive. |

Listen, time is money and money is time, I don't need those to make good tracks or for theory. My focals are enough but if i was a tad bit richer i'd get them with out a thought. |

I've been thinking of getting the Tannoy 501a, good reviews across the board and good price, but i came across 2 people who claimed these are really weak at the low end, they said you can't get a good mix for your kicks\baselines with these.
Any truth to that? anything better on that price range? |
