You guys are cray!

First off, no one here told me what street cred was. I'm sure one of you must know.

I've got 4 siblings; all younger brothers. Of the 5 of us, only 2 can dance. 1 is into rave dance and the other has more typical universal black dancing talent & can do everything from hip hop, to salsa, to country, to tektonics. By default I can't dance, but if I'm ed up enough, the rhythm comes out, and onlookers are able to confirm that indeed I am a black.

How much do you collect in welfare/goverment aid each month?

I collect $200 in food stamps, a month, but that's just a happy coincidence goddammit! :whip:
Times iz hard! No, I don't abuse the system, but as part of the requirements to receive government aid I had to attend daily career workshops at some BS agency full of people who actually do take advantage of the system. A lot of people there would do whatever they could to remain unemployed, no matter how many times jobs were found for them. I used to think people were just being racist, saying that we abuse the system, but this was the first time I saw it with my own eyes! After a week I couldn't take it anymore. No amount of benefits was worth continuing to be around people with such terrible mentalities, all day. There's a good chance I'll relocate for work, within the next few weeks.

The institution I worked for fired me over a Facebook comment, a few months back, after I lost a lawsuit against them. They waited until the case was closed, then cut me loose.

If you're black why did you type "ask" rather than "axe"?

I feel like people saying "axe" instead of "ask" might have it's roots in dyslexia. It's the most common learning disability that goes undiagnosed.

what does 4,5,6 mean to you?

4, 5, & 6 are the numbers of train lines here in the city.

Will full in appropriate quotes and answer more when I get up in a few hours.

I'm thinking I'll have watermelon for breakfast. But that's because my roommate just happened to buy some, and is hot out!

i live in the same city as you, although I'm not one to judge on your adolescence, the question about 4-5-6 is in relation to ceelo, the dice game, the game we played to make a few bucks to buy nick bags, to buy $2.25 newports and if we're good enough you were able to cop a bag, a phillie, newports, and a 40.

We also played skelly on my block with stoop ball and man hunt.

Having just had some watermelon for breakfast, not too long ago, I have to say it really is quite good, when ripe. So sweet. Haven't had it in years! Too much work to cut up & whatnot. My favorite fruit is oranges though.

What your interests are? Who you be wit?

I finally made a group of black friends, about 4 years ago, and I've gotta say, it feels good. Even when I was living in the projects, my mom always sent me to school in yuppie white neighborhoods, so I never made any friends around my block, or in the hood.

I finally moved back to Harlem, last year, after 6 or 7 years away, and the friends I've made here are mostly black Canadians. That still counts, right? When not in bars or loft parties, we spend a lot of our time smoking weed, baking brownies, and eating mushrooms.

Yes! My skin is amazing... except for it being black, and whatnot. :sadgreen:

Why can black people not really dance anymore. And you've also seemed to have lost a racial domination on great musicians.

I've been contemplating the music thing for a while now, and what I think happened is that the roles reversed. In the past, blacks did all the rapping and soulful singing. In the future, whites are doing all the rapping and soulful singing, while blacks are doing whatever it is that Pharell does.

IMO the new generation of blacks didn't grow up under the same strenuous social conditions that is conducive to the creation of good music. Good music (and dancing, for that matter) comes from passion. The new generation just doesn't have it. A lot of us grew up going to private schools, and had yachts, and country houses. This is probably why a lot of famous black rap artists rap about absolutely nothing. This guy is a prime example of that

Do different techniques among rape have a purely cultural reason or is the some genetics at play. Crackers use a more civilized albeit cowardly form that involves some form of drug. Black people seem to do it with the help of a few homies. Russell tells me that both are bad but that charcoal skins need more regulation on the amount of homies. Sorry for using the word homies. It is a little racist.

Hey, hey, people of all races get a little rapey from time to time. There's no point nitpicking over technique, as long as the job gets done. ;)

C'mon now, that stuff's gross! I ain't even gonna lie though, there was one really bad year where I had to live with a really poor black family, and they gave their kids that , so I got to have some too and... actually, no. It was still pretty gross. Even back then.

Grape soda, on the other hand; that 's the truth!

Also, blake. I was wondering. You seem a little older, so I don't know if this is just for younger black males, but do you use wave gel? Or do you stick with Murray's?

And do you have cocoa butter? How much of it? You don't seem to be the type to be walking about with ashy knees and elbows.

Don't ask me how I know so much about these things.

I was born in 83, and yeah I used cocoa butter, growing up! I haven't used it in years, because of how much of a hassle it is to put on, and because it smells like cocoa butter, and because it's so thick compared to regular lotion, but I've been thinking about getting back into it. It's supposed to be better for our people's skin.

I don't use wave gel, or du-rags, and I never have. My hair is naturally wavy. Bitch!

My brothers used to rock that though, lol. I don't know wtf Murry's is. :conf:

Wow! You's a O.G.

I only just found out what ceelo was, THIS YEAR, from one of the Canadian black friends I mentioned in one of the posts above. I grew up 10 years in Gramercy, and 10 years in West Harlem (in both vertical and horizontal projects). I'd always seen people playing that, but I never mingled with anyone in my neighborhood, once I moved to Harlem, so I never found out wtf they were on about. Didn't even realize they were playing for money.

Not sure wtf "skelly" or "stoop ball" is, but around when I was 19 or 20, I met a girl who used to play manhunt in the projects by LES. My parents both grew up in the projects, which is probably why they kept me so busy with extracurricular activities. I never had time to hang out on my block, or earn this mysterious "street cred" that people speak of.

You know David Yang, right? 'Bogartgreens' on NYTA. He's one of my best friends now, and even he calls me Bryant Gumbel, sometimes, when I don't understand slang terms he uses.

It sounds like you're pretty thorough. About as thorough as Tae/DjTek, I'm guessing :nervous: . We once had an hour long conversation where I kept asking him why he chooses to act so hood, even though he's Asian, and he kept trying to explain to me that it's not a choice. :stongue:
