The Irish, Italian, and Chinese dominated in terms of immigration numbers to Canada (and the US) at the turn of the last century. I'm 2 of those, and immigrated to the 3rd. Take that Mao!

Hahaha! My goodness it's a combination nightmare of cholesterol and a napalm strike if it falls over.

My own cooking and diet has become a lot more dull as there are just certain things fussy eaters in this house won't touch. Most things I personally like seem to have either direct French or is influenced by that style of cooking. Plus when you give it a go yourself it can be quite a lot of fun.

There are definitely a lot of "mutt" Americans, but it's definitely not all of us. I'm a pretty "pureblood" one, with great-grandparents primarily coming from Germany and the Netherlands, and one from Ireland.

The ingredients say "spices and herbs (including red pepper and black pepper), salt, and paprika. Very simple but oh so delicious.
