I'm wondering why DD doesn't want to go back to Spin (formerly Montage). Giant use to throw parties there all the time. And right now, they seriously need something to bring people to that place.
I liked the multi level set-up, the roof top, and even the side room with bar on the second level.
It's a shame that their "open til 4AM" pass they have is going to waste. |

Also, looks like Sasha Sunday Dec. 1st at Bassmnt. I'm so new to this town i dont know much about it. Any reviews on this place?
Either way i'm going. And I'm very impressed with the talent. Only been here a few weeks but thats a pretty good month if you ask me... |

| Exactly, in this social media day and age, the fact that Spin isn't downtown has little effect now as far as I'm concerned. You pull a big name, and have a FB event page, people will come. It's now LED vs. Insomniac/Eventvibe for SD reign, and if Voyeur is out of the picture, Spin is probably the best 'EDM fit' club. I'm curious about the Faulconer conspiracy stuff cited in the Reader article though. Anybody been to Somewhere Loud? |

Don't forget spundae! They threw their return party June 2009 at the Andaz rooftop with Steve lawyer, can't wait for them to start up!
Amazingly that night lawyer played one of the first voyeur shows....so voyeur has come and gone 4+ years but spundae must still be figuring out the kinks. Maybe giant is going to follow spundaes lead and open Avalon in 2020? |

If the Yelp reviews on Spin are any indication, the place is prime for a major takeover.
I hear Morgan Page is will be playing at Somewhere Loud, which is apparently near Spin. All I know is that event is 18+, which means I'll pass. |

Interestingly, Giant used to throw parties at Bassmnt, when it was called Belo. From what I hear, the set-up is still the same. 2 rooms, a hip hop room and an electronica room. I wonder if they invested in a cooling system, because that place was a sweatbox when I went. Of course, this was awhile ago, too. |

| So what's the news with sd Avalon, on broadway event center, deco's I mean voyeur, and the wavehouse...."edm" is supposedly bigger than ever, but sd has lost the venues that were all popular in the late 2000's early 2010's. Did the boom kill sd? I remember Memorial Day weekend 2010 and seeing Eddie halliwell at fluxx, fedde le grand at obec and kaskade at 4th & B. Now none of those venues cater to the scene. |

| I drove by 4th & B yesterday and the Avalon logo was up on the corners of the building. There was a website on the marquee too, but I didn't catch it. |

I dont think Obec is going to open anytime soon. Something happened with one of their licenses, I think the Liquor one but not 100%. I wouldnt think about it for a long time. Dont know details about Voyeur or the other one you mentioned. Avalon is going to be an incredible space |
