i can assure you the internet is a little more robust than a vinyl. And i wasn't judging youtube, only stating a fact. If you want to be signed by a major label, your youtube views are what matter. Would you say you more access to every track ever made now more than a decade ago ? The storage is insignificant. It isn't like they are going to erase music to make room. And those forgotten classics are slowly being digitized. I mean there is never going to be less people with access to those lost tracks than those that already have it on vinyl so i don't see the logic.

your mp3 hoarding is just hoarding. You feel like you gained something because you associate value even tho you won't ever listen to it. Just a few reasons why piracy is not so simple.

Now, I don't know who Thom Yorke is or what his music sounds like.

this scares me a bit coming from a music producer

Why, is there some requirement to know the names of every popular band's members that I'm not aware of? Why would a Dutch EDM producer have any reason to know the lead singer of a popular English band that he doesn't listen to?

ask any touring dutch edm producer or dj who thom yorke is. i bet they will know

if you want to make it in the music industry you should at least know the basics of contemporary music

you guys are ridiculous

unless you actually make 100% of your income from your art form i refuse to believe you guys are actually for real right now

and i say touring because it probably means they actually are professionals who actually work and get paid to make their music or play it

i agree that internet might be more robust than vinyl but im really not that sure. what underground labels/artist or personal filesharers would want to pay yearly fees to make underground tracks available for others on servers here and there? torrents die after a aprox 3 months. during napster days you could basically get whatever you wanted no hassle whatever year it was made or whether it was popular or not. its not like that anymore. i cant seriously find many of my old favorite tracks anymore except a few on youtube (in low quality vinyl rippings). people/artists/labels do actually erase music on internet just because of yearly fees to keep it online. it might be stashed away on some HD somewhere but what does that help? stuff disapears from iTunes, Beatport, Spotify and youtube every day. A vinyl wont magically disapear but yeah it wont be available for everyone either. music becomes unpersonal and only the current stuff will stick. its not a good enough platform - someone needs to own it somehow. i actually DID have more access a decade ago, but it was illegal so yeah. this. collecting playlists isnt the same.

If me not knowing Thom Yorke is part of Radiohead is your best critique - I'll take it. If you take offense in me not knowing a band member of a relevant rock band by name I apologise. I don't really think I need to defend myself on this one.

Way to be over-dramatic.

Not reading that until you tell us what percentage of your income comes from music.
