i think it's important in life to embrace technology and the changing tide, which goes for music as well. for a long time i battled with the desire to collect vinyl and do that whole thing, but ultimately is it really worth it? Do i really want an overflowing house full of records? Do i really want to invest thousands of dollars in a hobby that doesn't really provide something that i can get at a fraction of the price? what's more important to me? having an outdated piece of plastic sitting around that i have to be home to enjoy or having that music with me constantly anytime i want it? well the later.
i think i've made the right decision and it applies to services like spotify as well. i haven't used it personally, but maybe it's something to explore. again, do i really want to spend hours organizing a bunch of files on my computer? do i want to max out harddrives and have to worry about how to fit everything on an 8 GB, 16GB, 32GB harddrive etc? or would I rather have everything again at my fingertips ready to be played when i'm ready to listen to it. probably again the later.
got to simplify life, cut out all the unneccessary stuff... |

| About stuff disappearing...a few years ago I was up at 3am watching rap videos on Mtv 2 or whatever. There was one track I liked out of a million I didn't, so I found it on YouTube. 3 weeks later the track was totally erased off the net...couldn't find anything on any search engine or website about that artist. I figured it was because he went in debt with the label or whatever for paying for all that airtime. |

| I didn't have a clue who Thom Yorke was until someone mentioned Radiohead. I don't see the problem there. |

lol clay is just an old guy being sentimental and confused at how the world is changing around him. his points have no validity, as it's the same we've heard all your life. this and that was better before, the kids these days dont have any respect etc.etc.etc.etc.
he just hasnt realized it's not the technology, but his fading youth, that's making everything seem like . |

only skipped thru, and heard a few horrible-ish tracks.. but thats really not what i wanted to say..
yeah, boiler room.. never heard a dj deliver a flawless transition there. i dont know if its the lack of a sync button, or fear of ppl bumping into yur back. but ppl are either trainwrecking or just not mixing in a good way thats pleasing to the ear. i mean, like it's 1993 and Mike Pickering is getting a bj in the Hacienda booth-kinda transitions. |
