They did last time I used one, but I recall the display being relatively small compared to what you can name things in your DAW.

You might find that you can pick up an older Euphinix MC Control for similar money though as over here at least the MCU seems to have bottomed out at about £400-500 used, and I've seen the MC Controls going for about 10-15% more than that.

Hey G. did you check this ICON surface control unit Qcon Pro - sounds like would work with any major DAW and build side is very solid??

Cheers

I have seen them D, but they have slightly mixed reviews. The QC isn't quite up to Mackie/Avid standards, but then again they are a lot cheaper. They are also huge, where the MC control/mix are much smaller. Might be worth a try though if you have the space as plenty of people seem happy with them over at Gearslutz.

Perhaps, but you can expand with the MC Mix in the same way you can with the MCU

Yes, it could be an issues where you have limited space on your desk - length is over 20" so not for everyone a specially with 2 monitors and speakers on the of your desk.

The other issue for me is that if you look at their website and youtube channel, it really does not look that professional.

I worry about updates and support in the future.

Looks like they have quality product on their website but you are right, without good and serious support I would be very reluctant of buying anything from them.

Cheers

I'm not sure it will be a success though. The people that I know who want a control surface, want real faders. Everything else can be a touchscreen but not the faders as they want tactile feedback. Sure, a few muppets might run out and buy them, but they must have spent millions developing that thing and it looks like the Avid s6 is about to completely steal their thunder.

Anyhoo, I know a dude that just got his hands on a 2400 and he's loving it so far. He does score work and the multiple faders suit him just fine.

Kind of what I love about it. 24 faders at your finger tips. If they had figured out the firmware issues before launching it (rather than fixing the firmware issues after they discontinued it) they would have sold millions of them. I'm on the hunt for a boxed, mint one....

Back on the GAS wagon, I think I'll start with an expanded MCU or Euphonix(Avid) setup at first to see how I get on with the faders vs mouse thing. I'm not convinced I actually need more than 8 faders, but we'll see.

I just wish there was more on offer that competed with the A&H GSR-24 as I love the concept, but I worry about reliability. The only thing that comes close in the SSL Matrix, but that's just silly money.

I wouldn't go the MCU route; although they are solid performance wise due to the protocol being well established, they feel quite plastic, and the Euphonix Artist series makes them feel like a fisher price unit. There's no comparison to the fader used by Euphonix - they are straight out of the $250k+ MC5 Broadcast desks.

The great thing about those units are they are modular so if you find that 8 isn't enough then just buy another one and you're set.

The GSR24 is certainly nice but the one thing I don't like is how short the faders are. Big oversight for me, especially compared to the Euphonix or even Tascam unit.

The other unit you could go for is the SSL Nucleus?

Oh I don't think people will buy the Raven to use it. I think they'll buy it for studio bling for when MTV cribs comes round.

I know you're right about the MCU as well.

Plus the MC's are teh s3x.

Oh btw, early reports on the Pulse 2 are :-

'it's a bit '
