Well.....I have got to say...Canada isn't as diverse as it is known for. Sure Canada is more multicultural than US, the so called "melting pot", and Canada the "tossed salad", but when you really look at it...you can see that we are all just seperated. I see it in the schools all the time...you see the groups that people hang out with...you all know it..we aren't really merging cultures at all...

anyways, thats just my opinion..

gets ready for flames.

i agree with you piggy...we are mixed to a certain extent...but then people want to "feel at home" so they socialize more with the people or their native land since they relate to them more...that's the main reason in my opinion...

true..I would blame it in the society in which we were brought up...and these ideas come from media and everything...I guess its just human nature..

i'm VERY VERY proud of heritage and i'm VERY VERY proud of living in Canada too , i go to a canadian school , i pay canadian taxes , etc... just like anyone else here. have you ever seen me making fun of the country i live in ? hell i got into flame wars in the chill-out room to defend Canada against that little of tiesto14

i love Canada but i'm MOROCCAN first , got it ? and i'm free to consider myself whatever i want to be , ok ?

I agree with you, and I'm happy for you up until the last sentence. Canada should come first for Canadians. Had the roles been reversed, would you consider yourself a Canadian in Morocco? I'm all for people being proud of their heritage, but Canada should come first.

Now that we cleared up our point of views, I'd like to point out that there is a difference between being a patriot and being a racist. I am among the former.

i understand your point of view now , but you have to know that i didn't come to Canada to get rid of my heritage and get a new one (just like all the others) . it's true we all come here to get a better living condition , but in my case you can't just come and say : the country i was born and lived in for my whole life , now i'm only canadian
