Hey peeps

Ingrosso has the tendency to do
Something with his highs that make them so crisp
And clean but not too eat piercing.

I was trying to emulate it through an exciter, different eqs, bitcrush I can't seem to get there. Any suggestions? Something I haven't tried?

Is there a specific
Frequency I should
Be eqing out and/or raising? I know around 2-3 k can hurt your ears. I watch out for that. I found the closest I could
Get is when I excited the highs around 8-10 and above. Still not close though
Do
You think it's his work or his engineers?
I had an engineer mix a track of mine and he did a similar thing but when I asked - it's just eq :/

Cheers

no idea what you're hearing in this, sounds like a wall of noise
TranceElevation
I do agree with meriter.

Anyway, a big part of the way you perceive highs depends of the reverb you're using, how does it reflects highs and of course what settings you're using.

And, that example is horse .

Down press play because I think that plays a bad quality version. Well it did on my iPhone. Download it and listen to
The main lead and the quick sweeps and fx. They have the highs I'm talking about
tehlord
I have no idea why you'd want to try and emulate that awful sound, but in any case 8k is your friend, 2k is not.
Deillon
I still think this is a catchy song

Not for my trance tracks for my house tracks.

Thanks, I have tried boosting around that level. :)
aquila
Don't flood your high end with treble boosts on every channel. Keep things simple. I like to reduce the top end of a lot of channels except the ones I want to stand out.

Listen to that example again. The lead synth is actually quite dull, but there's a bright layer beneath it.
tehlord
Yeah, cutting other stuff around that level means the stuff you want to stick out at that level will stick out without your ears bleeding.

Boosts should be subtle.

clay
rip the hihat loop from vinyl. gives a nice distorted touch.

Cheers.

I think I might be raising highs on too many channels!!

Thanks again.
