Give up on any pretence of getting a job you enjoy in a field you're passionate about that pays a good starting salary. If you don't have a good foothold by the time you graduate, you have absolutely no chance.

If you can't write a resume, you surely can't write a book.

Start working, keep trying to move forward, and eventually you'll develop some connections and hopefully move into your preferred field of work. Just keep moving, don't get stuck in a rut, especially at home. Right now I'm working a very menial job at a grocery/convenience store, while applying to be a teacher with NYC Teaching Fellows. It's one of those 'odd jobs' I'm doing atm, but it definitely beats sitting around at home, doing nothing, and at least I'm getting some pocket money and keeping myself busy. You have to understand that your job is not your life, it's a way to make ends meet so you can live your life. Most people probably do not like their jobs very much, but you have to survive. Even if I become a public school teacher, it's not something I particularly like doing, but it is something I may have a knack for, and therefore I might as well do something that pays decently well, and something in which I can be good at, and hopefully help my students grow. I'm still not sure if education is what I truly want, or should, pursue, but at nearly 29, I ought to pursue something, and see what happens later. One can always have a career change, but it's always good to keep busy doing something, while you still may be unsure of what to do career-wise.

The good thing about a career/full-time decently paying job is that you can eventually save up to perhaps start your own business. So you may also want to invest some years into that, so you can reap the rewards later. It's all one step at a time, either way.

My advice is don't settle.

Stay home until all of the illegal aliens are deported to the governments of the states from which they came.

And you know what, if you were born in a country where your parents entered ILLEGALLY - I'm sorry but you don't belong there. You and your parents should go back where they came from. Learn well the laws of the civilization you care to be a part of, and then apply. AMENDMENT ANYONE?? or maybe some de-leecher spray.

Troops should be solidifying borders instead of chasing terrorists around the world.

Something has to change before the job market becomes favorable again.

Maybe an online job would suit you since you posted here! Hang in there. Be creative.

When ever I suffer a financial setback I blame immigrants too. If only we could build a wall around our country like gaint castle.

Righteous immigrants are brave and often very forward thinking and innovative, a grand addition to any state in my eyes. It's people who have no respect for the law & what's right in this world - and a lot of them - that unfortunately for us all, are setting back righteous human financial gains.

As a rule of thumb, I usually say that if you're going to blame someone for something then blame yourself.

People keep people out. Walls could be useful though to keep watch. ;)
