| Jealousy galore here. Can't someone just have a hobby and the money to spend? Granted it is overkill in terms of speakers vs space vs acoustics, but if it makes the experience that much more fun it is still worth it. |

Hey, thanks man. I mean its for gaming, movie watching, jamming.
Evo8 has the sm9's in a barely treated room with only aurelex and nobody opens a mouth, plus they go for 7,000$ for both.

i think youve been misinformed matey - ive over €1000 worth of GIK Acoustics treatment in my room, you wont find any auralex in there either
having said that, if youve got the cash then the Barefoots would be the last monitors youd ever need, at that level its merely down to personal preference.
But trust me - you will not get half the value out of those monitors unless you invest in room treatment - you should really take Rann's advice and treat your room right now - if its Focal twins you have then id venture you will notice a step up in quality to the barefoots, but then again it all depends on the room as to what difference you will actually hear. |

I'm not defending anyone. I'm merely implying that I find some posts in this topic inappropriate and fueled by jealousy. And even if it wasn't jealousy, who are you to judge what somebody else spends his money on? |

ST is right people - if he wants to spend his parents money on goild plated speaker stands, then let him. He's passionate about music, I've downloaded a fair few of his mixes and he's always plugging away at production.
If he keeps at it long enough his skills will at some point match the level of the equipment, and you'll all be fistpumping at Vegas to "Juan more time" by DJ Paulino. |

i bought a defunct film studio. I don't know the first thing to video and photography but now i have equipment to make a movie. It was a bargain apparantly and i've always been interested. I'm actually learning about the craft and me it makes music look like a cakewalk.
So ya, i get spending money but you seem to have expectations with the money you spend which incurs the wrath of others.
I just think that ****** rich is when you have a disproportionate amount of money in one item while everything else is cheap. You need to spend money in a way that has the right feng shui or what ever the that is called.
Its like a black guy in suv with 30 lcds. |

Right, fair enough but just so we're clear, my sentiments are derived from the behaviour and attitude that Juan has shown under the various different handles he's used over the years and the way he's treated other people while he's been here. Sorry but it's hard for me to just ignore that stuff like it hasn't happened.
You can go and research his post history if you can be bothered, but if you don't pay enough attention around here to notice these things, then that's not my problem. If it were anyone else I probably wouldn't have said a word and frankly I don't give a damn what anyone else spends their money on.
