The other day at work i was listening to the New Z103 (it's 'ZED' YOU RETARDS) and some gino dude came on the request line and asked for
"2 AM"
So, tony replies "GREAT TRACK! I'll play that right now, Here's '2AM' by Lazard, on the new Z103!"
First of all.... it's "4am".
Second of all, it's not even "4am". It's "FOUR O'CLOCK"
and thirdly, the track title is "FOUR O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING"
The guy who requested probably didn't know better, but Mr. Monaco being a DJ should've known better, and should've called it by it's real name.
2nd incident.
Starsplash "Rainbow in the sky"
A little history. This track was originally produced by DJ Paul Elstak of Rotterdam records, in the land of windmills, cheese and wooden shoes; Netherlands. Produced back in 1996, the song rose to the top of the charts in Benelux, UK, Germany and Italy, and maintained an average #1 place for about a month and half.
6 years later, a trance act by the name of Starsplash breathes new life into the old Ravecore/Happyhardcore anthem, and the song is back on the radio.
The other day, Mr. Monaco after playing the song says in a sarcastic tone "Nahh... that doesn't sound like 'sunshine after the rain' at all."
Considering 'Rainbow' is the older of the 2 tracks, how does it sound like 'Sunshine'?? If anything 'Sunshine' was probably a rip off of the other.
What makes Mr. Monaco look like an idiot is the fact that he said that, and that as a DJ -once again- he should know the music he plays.
Oh yeah... and the best one of all is "Shooting Star". Which is another old Happyhardcore tune, which Tony said on the radio "This is an update of a song by a group called 'Happyhardcore'
The group that made 'Shooting Star' is called Bang!

| I totally agree with you man, plus his DJing skills are very very bad, the other day I was listening to some Z103 live from some club where he was spinning (I had nothing better to do) and his transition between tracks is really noticable, it sound as though he just fades the tracks from A to B and vice versa without beat matching and all that, sounds like a total beginner DJ... I guess no better DJs would agree to spin for Z103 and gino crowds :) |

| lol, i haven't seriously listened to the radio (pop garbage) for almost 2 years i think...i usually listen to a trance cd or the classical stations (classical 96.3 fm is i called?) :D |

I know that saying the guy was a gino is stereotyping a bit, but Gino's have a bit of a lilt or accent in their english, so it's totally noticeable.

I like to listen to 91.1 (jazz) if i don't feel like listening to dance music or pop. |

| I HATE it when radio "dj's" do like that. around with the track name/producer (remixer). hahaha, here's something to add to his stupidity:
It always pisses me off when radio djs don't say which remix they play of a track, and z used to always play the peter luts mix of castles in the sky without saying it's his remix. so one day my and my buddy were bored and we decided to test him. I called in and said "hey tony, i wanna hear the peter luts remix of castles in the sky", so he goes "sorry, i don't think we have the remix vinyl yet, but i'll play the origional mix for u" and he played the peter luts remix. i just found that amusing.
and another thing that used to piss me off was when he always said "don't download mp3s, support your artist". meanwhile, they have a computer running winamp connected to the mixboard, and he's getting nobodys to re-produce tracks such as airwave just so that he doesn't have to pay any royalties to the real artist.
He's such a moronic hypocrite. |
