I gotta agree with the negative reviews... His set wasn't as bad as when I saw him at Maison (which some of you praised as well) but I found it to be uninspiring and generic. Track selection was OK at best, mixing was terrible at times and there just wasnt any flow to the set. The time I saw him in Guv main room about 2 years ago was just incredible... not sure what happened to that Lawler.
Venue was a nice change but outdoor mens bathrooms, $4 coat check and $10 dinks were a little bit of a shock (on top of the already high ticket prices)
Another nail in the coffin for my partying career lol |

lawler played a great set, not the best set i've herd him play but i liked it... i would not call it bad...
the biggest issue that nobody pointed out, was not that ******y at the end of the night getting the jackets... like that was a cluster ... and it wasnt the ty drink selection, or having the mens toilet in the cold... it was the fact that they shut down at 4am...
yeah i was expecting 5am and the possibility of running it later... but lawler came on the mic and said the police were at the door... ok just because that happened onece or twice, he doesnt have to keep saying it...
anyways despite all of those problems i am looking forward to going back there... please move toilets inside during the winter months atleast...
great dj set up, lasers led board behind dj booth were great... they also had a chick climbing up doing some funky in the air that was a nice touch to the whole circus vibe.... |

My expectations were extremely low.. haven't been a Lawler fan in years. I didn't hate what he played, and was happy it wasn't extremely generic, but I found it to be forgettable. No one's going to be talking about this party in a few years time. Scratch that. It'll be forgotten about in a few weeks. Wait... what were we talking about again? |

Dude Chris I find it downright hilarious how they deleted your comment on the FB event wall.
Hahahahahahhaahhaahahaa... professional much? I'm pretty sure that's why only a few promoters in Toronto have survived and thrived so far. I can name em but we all know who they are (I'm looking at you TA's!)
Maybe there should be a requirement for promoters to be active on the cor a year or two to get used to the flames lol. |

| Coat check madness, poor drink selection, and unideal bathroom situations come with the territory of non-club parties. But none of these are insurmountable problems and generally worth it to party somewhere else for a change, I'd say. |

Agree.
For the record I didn't go to the party nor am I affiliated with any of the organizers, but you guys are seriously a bunch of whiners.
Everyone is clamouring for warehouse parties circa the early 90's heydays but want to be pampered like celebs too? Sorry, was there no bathroom attendant with badet/mints/aqua de gio? If you want that you got plenty of options in union and musik etc. The whole point of warehouse parties is for the underground vibe, ty last minute organization, and a grime covered cement box venue.
However, I sympathize with having to deal with an understaffed coat check. Its a major buzz kill after partying no doubt. There's really no reason not to hire another chick or two for $60 bucks each knowing the expected attendance numbers...especially in the winter.
(As far as I can tell) it was their first party at this venue, so these things are to be expected. Everybody was eating out of electric islands ass by the end of the summer... but does no one remember the horrendous sound, food stand gong show, and massive lineups for the first event?
Give it time. If the next party is just as 'bad' then by all means rip them a new one. |

This may be Electric Nation's first party here, but it's certainly not the first party thrown there. Promise and other promoters have been throwing parties here for years. Something like coat check isn't related to a 1st time or a 10th time throwing a party at a venue. Staffing coat check isn't difficult when you know how many people you are expecting. Simply staff it accordingly. I heard from an inside source that one of the partner's came in after all the plans were made and cut corners on purpose. That is completely unacceptable. Add into the fact that the staff they hired were . While waiting in line, I saw them checking their cell phones and sending out texts when the line was through the door into the main room. |

Oh come on, this is not the first time most of us have been to a warehouse jam. Lol.
And for the record, the one bathroom DID have an attendant with ty perfume and breath mints. ;) |
