The reason the coatcheck situation was a disaster (I heard) was the fact that the girls were not storing coats in any order - therefore, when you gave them your ticket, they had to go through every single jacket to find yours.

isn't that the point of coat check - storing in order?

Translation: they hired ing morons to do a job monkeys probably could have done better.

I actually said that while I was in line at the end - Monkeys could've organized those coat racks more effeciently.

The girls looked like a bunch of ing chickens with their heads cut off searching endlessly through each rack. At one point one of the girls tipped the entire rack over, knocking everyone's coat on the ground. When the dimwit picked up the rail holding all the coats, she picked it up from the end and they all slid off  ...

To be perfectly honest, other than the coat check show, the hockey game priced beer (seriously, WTF, $10 for a tallboy??) for the $35 I paid for my ticket, I had a good time. I wasn't expecting anything over the top, I just wanted to hear decent music in a new raw environment, and I got just that.

Would I attend another event by Electric Nation in a new venue? Probably. I just hope they learn a thing or two from this event (like they did with Electric Island) and take customer criticisms with more than a grain of salt when they host another underground venue party.

electric/electronic nation has nothing to do with electric island.. 2 separate companies.

I actually don't even care about the line up OR coat check or overpriced drinks. In fact, coat check was full by the time we got in and we ended up stuffing our coats behind a fence - which ended up better at the end of the night anyway.

To bring it back to the music, my chief beef (lol) is that Lawler was mostly MEH. I wouldn't say to the point of disappointment, but it was definitely a forgettable night, music wise.

lol @ underground warehouse rave with Steve Lawler. The reason the drinks + tickets were so expensive was probably to cover his $5,000 or $10,000+ booking fee. Steve Lawler is very far from being underground at this point and that's the truth. Keep him in the clubs please. When the real underground acts pass by Toronto no one shows up.

This is true. Also you guys get burned because you keep giving Lawler that one more chance. He hasn't played well at the very least since 2008. There are many guys who I would give another chance at a good party and that's because they are inconsistent (good 5 times/bad 5 times) but with Lawler IMO it's been a downward spiral for some time now.

I think he means how the Electric Island promoters learned their lessons and rectified the issues brought by customer for their 2nd and continued events. Which, they did a great job listening and doing their best to address the concerns from the customers and making the necessary improvements.

PS - Kotsy's thrashing on their event wall is some of the best Facebook entertainment in years!

Dude Chris I find it downright hilarious how they deleted your comment on the FB event wall.

Hahahahahahhaahhaahahaa... professional much? I'm pretty sure that's why only a few promoters in Toronto have survived and thrived so far. I can name em but we all know who they are (I'm looking at you TA's!)

Maybe there should be a requirement for promoters to be active on the cor a year or two to get used to the flames lol.

lol really? thats ed how they would delete someone's comment.

Hey man, the last time I saw Lawler was at WMC in 2009 at the Beatport pool party - and he was really good. I remember being pleasantly surprised and thinking "Oh damn, Lawler's back!"

I mean, I know it's WMC so it's totally different. But ehh. :o
