Overly expensive festival but the lineup is at least pretty damn sick.
There shouldn't be too many complaints from ANYBODY regarding the lineup.
I just wonder what sort of people are going to show up aside from kids suffering from affluenza (and we all know what kind of music they listen to...). I mean, why book all these cool, trendy underground DJs like Blond:ish, Fur Coat, Green Velvet, Dubfire, Lee Burridge, etc. I know of exactly zero people who listen to that kind of music that shelling out the money for Ultra. Everybody I've talked to is simply doing all the other parties that are part of WMC.

Only way I go is if the thing doesn't sell out, the reseller market falls apart and tickets are going for $350 and under. Even then I'll most likely make it a one day deal and sell the other 2 days. I mean, honestly, seeing the likes of Cirez D, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Dubfire, etc in the Carl Cox tent never gets old. :toothless |

| I was lucky enough to score an Ultra ticket at early bird price. I was mass spamming the out of the website. If the lineup had sucked I would have just sold my ticket and made my money back plus $200 more. Not bad. That Carl Cox tent has me by the balls though. It's always a great time. Cirez D better be playing there... |

I think its back to one. The pushback they got last year from doing that second weekend was pretty bad. |

hit me up tomorrow, its fairly easy to get a one day comp pass from someone for fairly cheap.

in the meeting last year the city left it open to do two years in the future but the meeting would have to come late like late December or early January. Ultra wants a second weekend just because they only have to pay for the stages to go up once |

| The two weekend thing was amazing, I went both and the first was better by far. So much room to roam around but the 2nd weekend was a cluster! |

can't believe candy ravers pay $500 to see the same DJs as always.

With no second week, and the fact that this thing isn't sold out, tells me that Ultra made a mistake charging $500 for tickets. Bad time for a festival to make mistakes, with all the competition these days. Mysteryland looks interesting, Tomorrowworld was supposedly awesome, and then you have EDC whom has been stepping their game up as well.
For $500, the experience better be far and away better than anything else that is offered in the country. I don't know if that's true. And honestly, $500 is just too much for ANY festival, I don't care how badass it is or who is playing. It's just too much damn money to fork out to see a glorified light show and dudes mixing electronic music in a massive sea of kandi kids.
But then again, I'm reminded of how insignificant electronic music is compared to the world of football and basketball and how much money is involved at those events. I spent $190 on a pair of tickets for a Magic game at the beginning of the season (as much as I love pro basketball, these games usually nowhere near the experience of a good music festival). It's all relative to your disposable income, I guess. |
