hahaha

well....ive only done it twice...i didnt mind....

I can see both sides, tho ;)

When i heard how taken Fadi and JOC and Menno were when it happened, tho, it made it fun to me- just knowing that the artists loves it so much.

If i didnt know that...i probably would be 100% on your guys side with it

Gonna have to agree with this. Glad I was chilling in the back of the floor the whole night so I didn't stand out by not doing it.

That being said, Cars, you are correct, I had a blast for the time that I was there. Unfortunately, I opted to leave earlyish (~2:15-2:30) as my female companion was getting tired. Of all the nights ><.

Im really surprised it happened for an event like this hahahah

And so early!!

i think it might have been misplaced HAHAHHAHAH

Was it an uplifting vocal tune? (thats generally when someone starts it)

1) It started in Argentina :)
2) It started with, and stays in trance (if SHM has this, its because it caught on after the fact- i wouldnt know i dont listen listen to them)

@earnyourkeep who are what DJS? Indecent Noise, ect?

all the djs that played this event, never heard them before tbh lols

and the sitdowns i've been part of are from richie and carl cox

i saw SHM closing parties in ushuaia back a few years ago and they didn't do a sitdown

have to weigh in here (don't I always):

I am totally with scoops, panda, cr24 etc on this.
I can't ing stand it, I think it's silly, and most important, it reminds me of total group-think (ever tried to NOT say the Pledge of Allegiance at meetings for example?).

Plus it totally breaks the flow or the music if you are dancing to it, and makes you do what others think you should do, not what the music is telling you to do.

I was pretty far forward at this point, when this started, and then, not bothering, some girl was motioning to get down.

as I have seen this enough times elsewhere, I know to get out of the way as much as possible at that point, which here meant, mvoe over to wall and endure.
if IN ever puts that vid out there, I'll be that one person up frontt not doing this , lol, and probably looking suitably unimpressed (and vaguely uncomfortable).

pretty funny too, because about 3/4 back it petered out, so you just know it was peer-pressure doing the ocnformance thing up front.

so predictable, and so cheesy
(Argentina and Europe, ha)

ok the DJ's like it, but I can't change my mind on this.

Panda, i think you are referring to SHM TELLING the crowd to do this.
At least for music like we heard here, meaning quality, the DJs don't do that, it does more or less originate with the crowd.

At SHM's first MSG show it was like:
we're gonna do try a new thing, sit down, and when I tell you, jump.
LAME!
kindergarten is right, and it's embarrassing.
and they repeated this word for word at the RB AP (like half that whole set it seemed)

don't mean to offend anyone here who likes this, but that's how I see this. 3

(if this is from Argentina, no surprise there, we're not exactly talking about a country with a recent history of indivicual freedom, so kind of fits, even if that is overanalyzing this)

I'm known for ripping farts on the dance floor

but if I ever see this next time I am out in a club, I runnin parallel to a line of people sitting down and ripping the worst fart in gods creation

kind of like...its respectful to be on the dance floor not in the DJ booth HAHAHAHAHA

shows the artists youre really into it.

I will give you this...it sucks when everyone does it you kind of HAVE to or you look silly...and what if you dont like the song? hahah Generally its done for THAT artists songs tho. AKA if its Fadi up there then the crowd chooses an Aly & Fila track

WAIT! You werent even there! :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

shame on you :(

I know Sammie but im not that into IN.

yeah.. I saw it on some clip from wonderland when they did this.. they lowered the volume and told people to sit down and jump up hahah.. the single most ridiculous thing I've ever seen happen during a festival.

But as you say, if it even originates with the crowd, to me it still looks stupid and not fun at all.. Why would I partake in something that doesn't look like fun? Respect or not. If PVD (I respect the guy a lot) pulled something like this I can honestly say I would leave the venue in that same second.
