The videos you linked to, and TranceElevation's, are all Tech-house, not Deep House.
These two toe the line, but Discogs says yes*, so...
(*that, and they're the only two Deep House cuts I've purchased as of recent)
May I ask why it has to be new releases? If you're not particularly versed in the genre, there are a slew of classics worth checking out. After having it sit on my wantlist for ages, I recently nabbed Motorbass - Pansoul, 2 x LP. So many choice cuts on it:

There is no one element that exactly defines any genre, so your question is rather moot. If you're looking to figure out which elements are generally associated with Deep House, then Discogs and Wikipedia are both your friend:

Sometimes it helps to look back to understand something in the present.
The track you posted is somewhere between Progressive House and Tech-House. It's even listed as "Minimal" on Beatport, which is by and large what the two aforementioned genres morphed into.
You're the only one who can answer how you somehow extracted "Deep House" from that, when the cut contains none of the elements in the track cited as example in the initial post in this thread.
And this confidence comes from having been doing this for 30 years. |
