We need more drama, that what keeps people coming back.

It gives the lurkers an incentive to come and post or come and just lurk some more.

It's just not happening like it used to, not that many visitors come here anymore. Maybe when the new EDC thread starts we will have some more action. Or maybe once summer starts and the Vegas season starts? Who knows, but sad to see this place die out :(

promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate, just saying

I never really posted much in the first place but ive been taking a long break from going out. in addition to just being tired and partied out, almost every DJ i want to see plays on Thursday or at ruby skye, the rave scene is getting taken over by ever more bizarre music that hurts my ears, and i just can't party like i used to. to echo what someone said, trance is really suffering especially in the bay area. Sondra productions are about the only thing i can get into because it's trance on THE WEEKEND, imagine the concept, so i'm going to make it out to giuseppe ottaviani on friday.

I still lurk here but now that i'm on the east coast it's less meaningful. The WCTA scene is pretty fragmented at this point from a genre standpoint, with the one constant being that pretty much nobody from this forum still goes to trance shows - at least in SF.

.. heh well some of us stil lurk, but the forums have definitely fallen off over the years.

Also, I think the larger trend is that the new gen isn't gravitating to forums anymore. They have so many other outlets to post and get info (facebook instagram, etc... ). Same scene on some of the other forums I'm on. You usually have a core set of consistent contributors, but when they leave the scene or move on, no one is replacing them...

you'd think... but we have a solid 10-30+ lurkers all throughout the day. i know about the 90/10/1 rule of the internet.. but still

Trance kind of lost its mojo to deep house as of late to me... :(... I think trance and this forum needs to revinvent itself before it comes back alive... This design is so circa web 2005... Its not a pretty experience like more updated forums...

Its a TRANCE forum... yet a Jamie Jones post gets more replies than an Indecent Noise one... you know you have problems.

Trance needs to get its together... I hope it goes 'deeper' :)... to like 126 BPM like what Oakenfold has been doing lately. Something about a slower beat and new production techniques have made those genres thrive lately. You can hear a lot more of what is going on.

Electronic music does not need to live at 135+ BPM anymore... I still love it... but time to slow things down haha :).

It never did. Maybe in your bubble.

I have over a thousand tracks from last year. All electronic. 95% are in the range of 65-120 BPM. Average is probably around 85.
