Treehouse was a success thanks to a great owner and great bookings thanks to rebelz and link. It was for music lovers, a place to see and not so much to be seen

Lets be serious there is more profit to be made at this place an idiot knows they but at what cost in the long run?

But if it was such a success why was it sold?? Especially after a year like 2013 where the bookings and parties were sick?

Something tells me it was a success in the eyes of house music fans but NOT a success financially. I mean tickets for most of those parties were 10 bucks, yet they had ROSTERS of good DJs playing...I know I always wondered how they're paying those dudes and still turning a profit, all the while being located on the beach (high rents $$$).

It's what makes this scene so difficult...a lot of people that go to underground music events simply don't spend as much money at the bar as people who go out to some hiphop or EDM (these people are getting hammered and are dropping lots of money at the bar). Might be one of those things where they probably did turn a profit but not much of a profit and they're looking at places that don't specifically cater to underground music heads and seeing the money that's being made. Time to sell...

This is what makes me laugh though about underground music fans...they don't wanna spend money at the bar...you raise ticket prices, they bitch about that. They're simply much more averse to parting with their money than other people who go out partying.

This is all speculation on my part.

yeah but if Treehouse is making money hand over fist he wouldn't have sold it and wouldn't be moving to Cali...

places like treehouse don't make money hand over fist. That's why I have a feeling the new owner/owners will attempt to do this and it will fail

There is a reason it was open for 3+ years. If it was that much in the red it wouldn't have lasted this long

If treehouse wasnt making money I highly doubt the pickle guys would have even attempted dont sit. They did don't sit because the underground south beach scene is trying to make a come back

I have been going to Treehouse every other Saturday for the past few months. And the place imo was doing really well.... Who knows what the real deal is? Noone ever knows but the owners. I stopped trying to dig in to these too much years ago. Because 99% of the rumors you hear are usually bull anyways. Even the owners will lie to not reveal whats really going on. Sad sad day if the Saturday party is done. I loved the vibe and the music.

I'd be willing to bet they don't turn a profit along with the majority of venues down here. With these outrageous booking fees, travel expenses and hotel stays venues are happy to break even.

Saturday party is over. Simple Balance is at Do Not Sit.

Really loved that Saturday party and the type of music they were bringing.

Do not sit is a nice spot as well. There was just something about Treehouse and that vibe. Hope the vibe comes with Simple Balance

Chris have you been Cali...I know i just got down here but Cali is just as nice as Miami but better weather without the humidity, Club scene might not be as strong with the crappy closing time though

What a shame. I love Treehouse. Will be there on Wednesday to see Heidi/Buttrich/Carl Craig.

Never been to Cali outside of predeployment training in the desert so I don't think it counts.

I know it's probably amazing out there, was just making the point that if one has a successful venture in Miami why would that person move to Cali? But I found out that it was the GM that moved, not necessarily the owner, which changes things.
