You can be damn sure of that! I'm gonna force you to come out next time Airwave comes around, though. |

I really really wish that other trance DJs could wise up, take notes, even hijack j00f's tracklists, and play some of the gems that he finds and brings to light.
It's sad that even the "underground" bryan kearney types DJs play out the same songs from their friends record labels over and over for years. "OMG an ID track!!" totally worth paying $30 to go to some venue with sound and seeing a set of 90% 140 bpm, an updated version the set they spun 3-6 months ago... NOT! (quite frequently not even blending tracks, rather dropping right into the bassline and drum track and crossing it over in 1-2 seconds... like wtf)
Most trance DJ's aren't digging deep, they aren't crate digging, or digital record diving, and it's ing sad. When I was going to a lot of trance shows and was sober enough to ID almost every track, I thought to myself wow... I might be able to do this DJ thing in another year or two once I get my production somewhat up to par... but I was fooling myself. I do not want to DJ trance, maybe a one-off classic set, but for what reason- to have 120 minutes of fame? I could care less.
THANK GOD FOR J00F!!!!
that global trance grooves podcasted #130 I posted earlier in the thread is the perfect example of the complexity, multi-dimensional and dynamic nature of his tracklists. the second hour is a live recording where he is actually "in the mix" with about every track he brings in.
end rant.
I'm really looking forward to this party. |

word!!!
wise words ben
i agree with you. there seems to just be a whole lot of gimmicks these days (team 140,whos afraid of 138,trance family etc etc)
alot of dj's these days stick to that formula cause it works
joof knows how to dig deep and build up his set properly
he has no plans on selling out or sticking to that same generic dj style most dj's have |
