Hmmm to start of a set :conf:
It's a little too kickass to start of whatever...
I'll say
Cass&Slide - glad I ate her

naw man, sets have to be started off with something special, like totally non genre trakcs, accapella, some scratching over some randon vinyl. Touch of class is required.

If i did a set in some club, id start with the following

Marshall Jefferson - Mushrooms
Junior Jack - Thrill me (id extend that whirring sound for like a good 5 min and drop in the bass like mad)

Moonface - Futurised fears with that wicked accapella from "Graffik - lesser man"

"As i part the tribal waters with my hand, will i be considered a lesser man"

alot of it is down to personal choice, you cant really ask people, i mean great djs ive seen have ended beautifully by playing some nice rock song from the Doves or started with some dark accapella, like Steve Lawler did with his Lights out tour. And have even started with rock songs and even some chilled out tracks.

If you want to build a deep progressive set, id start with Lamb - Gorecki, and id play with the atmosphere of the crowd :)

Hope i helped you slightly my son

Sure I heard this one it's in the best set ever
Oakey at Space Ibiza ess mix
It's not the first track either there.
Buy anyway, if a set is great it doesnt matter what the opening tune is, what u think?

definitely...it has to have emotion..and building it from the beginning is only half the battle
starglider
Medway & Sean Cusick - Columns Of Clouds

Very chilled out track with subtle vocals, more breaks than anything else and kinda hard to slot into a set anywhere else. Check it out. :)

Originally I thought I'd post just because your name was DCaff, but here is my suggestion of a song that I just seem to keep hearing on progressive type sets... Jakatta - American Dream (that American Beauty theme seems to be very popular)...!
