NYC Locals at Ezoo?
View this Thread in Original format
hellosam
So, we've all recently learned that EZOO is a go this year.

Some of us hate it. Some of us strongly dislike, and would never pay that much. Some of us love it and will give our first born....

All of that aside, Id like to discuss the tents. The artists here. I think we've seen only two locals- Zack Roth and Eco... maybe I’m forgetting someone else (I’m SO SORRY if i have).

Each year i expect more. And each year, i hear nothing. Each year i think- why not a locals tent?

Competition will be hard, blah...money..BLAH...space, blah blah

So i thought, why not ask Made Event/EZOO ourselves to do this. If not a tent, more locals at least.

Who knows if they care or will even look. But if we get enough signatures, then maybe something will happen. Events in the future, something. Who knows. I’m willing to test it out. (Plus I’ve never made a petition before and it sounds fun!).

So take a second, if you agree, and sign? (Itd be really cool if we could get some positive feedback here, i know ill be hit with serious criticism, this is TA, but something positive wouldn’t KILL anyone)
:D

haha every year this comes up and every year it's depressing to see how little support there is for local acts outside of the few dedicated supporters who bring it up in the first place. its a nice thought but for the most part people only care about major headliners and having them fill out a petition for smaller guys seems to be a lot to ask, i guess :p

well i guess well see. Its not very hard to sign, and its not very hard to ask people to sign.

So even if we end with like 200 sigs (obv not enough) then what was lost? nothing. Probably even make a few new friends along the way.

I see everything in life as a learning experience....many times i wont like it. Many times ill be wrong in my estimation of the outcome, but EVERY time I will learn SOMETHING....so for me, this is win win.....

Has anyone else ever done a petition/sig? Ive not seen before...
Excess
haha well that's exactly my point every year someone mentions it and it never even materializes into a petition, so yeah it's a start. i think with some minds behind an actual campaign it could be successful.

I wish ezoo had been announced earlier....its a bit late in the game, but anything is possible....well see. I guess an actual campaign of sorts will depend on who in the industry cares to join in

Ive sent emails to the prominent individuals in our NYC scene....so well see :)

honestly, many great things take time, if not all great things (theres always a loophole hahah) so i see this more as a starting point and a goal of NEXT year is the most feasible imo....but id love to see it explode and turn into something sooner :)

locals, isn't it strange how so many people view that as if we're talking about pohdunk usa locals, but in fact, we're talking about NYC...?
Neonbeats
Probably because there would be 3 people in that tent.

and Armin...lol

It doesn't have to be a big tent, small one would even do. if ezoo really wanted it they would make it happen.. I probably wont be going to ezoo this year but locals need our support!
